I think you’re pointing to the period before the rest of Europe realised how lethal he can be. Just watch the Northern Ireland game back and you’ll see how he’s now sat on constantly. It happening here just as much too since he’s replaced Ronaldo as our biggest threat.

When sarri or pirlo put ronaldo as a striker and not winger, he became invisible, that was coach fault, when they do this to chiesa, its chiesa's fault. Fu k this shit. Great first season, bursts on the scene, everyone's talking about him, but in the second year entire focus is on him. He is looked at as the best player, he is the focus of every defense and he needs to solve those issues.

I don't mind Chiesa as a 2nd striker in a formation like the one from yesterday. It was pretty clear even before the game started that we were going to get pinned back and had to hit them on the counter. You want to have your fastest player as close as possible to the halfway line and not sit at the edge of your own box (we were playing 811 at some point). There were a lot of 1v1 opportunities for Chiesa given how many players Chelsea was sending forward. Other than the few occasions where IMO he got beaten too easily, there is very little he could have done if we can't come out of our own half and string 2 passes together.
