How can anyone take these reports seriously? Chiesa isnt in Motta's plans, but that could change based on a few games for the national team playing in a completely different system/formation than Motta plays?

lol that's just beyond stupid

I still think the club will end up renewing him for a year. The club world club is at a weird time too so maybe that has an impact on the decision making of the club. I hope they renew his contract and keep him. I think he's got a lot to offer especially with Motta. I somehow don't believe the nonsense that the journalist is spewing about him not factoring in Motta's plans. I mean if he and Soule are sold, who do we have left besides Yildiz on the wings?? Are we really gonna buy three new wingers since Motta relies on wingers in his set up? Something doesn't add up for me.

that’s the thing Chiesa is not a core player. We got four core players - Danilo, Bremer, Rabiot and Vlahovic. Selling any of those would be huge loss for the club harmony
But he is though, an injury didn't change that, in fact it only reinforced it.

Danilo - Ok. He is 32 though.
Bremer - There were rumors of us selling him, and was it confirmed that he has that release clause in his contract? If so, certainly not a sign of someone considered a core player.
Rabiot - He is given yearly extensions, not a sign of someone that's part of our "core."
Vlahovic - I'd say so.

We are already building towards a stable core.

What we don't need is disgruntled players asking for a payrise after having a mediocre season. As a club, we need to make our stance clear on this.

This situation is no different to Dybala's contract situation.

That said, I still hope we can reach an agreement with him.
Well is he (allegedly) disgruntled because he just wants to leave, or is it because he wants a raise? That's a huge distinction to make. He's also (allegedly) asking for a salary well within the range of what we're already paying players. Even when looking to reduce the wage bill, it's incredibly short-sighted to not give a "small" increase during a period when he's in his prime earning years.

Chiesa, Vlahovic, Yildiz. That is our core, that is our trident to build around.

This must be your first year following Juventus transfer rumors. 95% of the crap you read is smoke without fire or just generalized statements that play both sides and cant be wrong.

Last year we read every day that one of Chiesa or Vlahovic had to and would be sold. How'd that turn out?

There's obviously natural smoke that Chiesa could be sold if he doesnt sign a contract extension. That's common sense. I just dont think that decision will ultimately be determined until late July and into August. To act like Chiesa has made his decision while at Italy camp 2 weeks after he said he wants to stay at Juventus makes zero sense. Especially with a new coach coming in that hasnt even been hired yet.

Chiesa will probably start talking with Juve again after he takes a holiday once Italy is done at the Euros. I fully expect him to be at training camp when it opens and for Motta to get his hands on him for a bit before any decisions are made.
Wonderful assumption there.
I didn’t read much or anything about Chiesa last summer, Vlahovic it’s likely we tried and there were no acceptable proposals.

In previous years we heard daily links about De Ligt, Pogba, Vidal, how did those turn out?
Avoid stringing one statistic to suit your narrative.
It’s fairly simple to cut through BS and understand the likelihood of a transfer taking place. If a good offer arises and Chiesa is demanding too much of a pay rise, then we will likely sell.

Whilst you may think that decisions may not be made until late July, it is possible that Giuntoli is trying to make deals early to avoid bidding wars and because he is being assertive, unlike the scattergun approaches of his predecessors over the past few years.

I reckon the club consider him for sale, but will only sell outside of Italy for at least €60M, and are probably hoping for few good Euro performances. If the right offer arrives he is gone. Definitely not "untouchable" IMO.

You didnt read anything about Chiesa last summer? Then you werent following rumors, because they were out there almost daily.

Of course rumors end up happening. When you throw 25 names that could be sold and 15-20 players that could be targeted, of course some will end up happening

Although in the case of Vidal, it's nothing like you mentioned.... that deal literally happened in like 1 day with no buzz leading up to it

And again, I never said Chiesa wouldnt be sold. If Juve have their way, he's either going to extend or be sold. When you read varying reports every day on something that is 50/50 to happen in either direction, of course someone is going to be right lol
