He's turned into Milos Krasic. Run forward, try to dribble, lose ball. When in the position to shoot proceed to miss TERRIBLY.

He was by far the worst player on the pitch yesterday providing 0 positives and an unholy ammount of negatives. I can't get over how much he fucked us up yesterday and I will keep on blaming the result on him the most.

I blame yesterday's result on Tek. If it wasn't for him the game should have ended at least 4:1. But yeah, Chiesa was awful yesterday.

he seem to have lost all the pace and dynamism, which he was relying on before injury which was our biggest concern, but besides that there is one more problem imo. On the mental side this injury and current situation totally got into his head, this is not the same Chiesa we all loved - he is blaming anyone but him and i cant see that grinta anymore in him. I really dont like his current attitude.

Like I and many other said yesterday. Chiesa simply has no football brain. He is a stupid player that relied on his explosiveness. And it worked as long as he had that explosiveness, but it is now gone after the injury. So basically he's just a brainless player who will try to do the things that worked for him before like dribbling and holding up the ball for extended, needless periods of time. If he was an actual smart player he would adapt to his new conditions and change his game. Doesn't seem like that's possible though.

So I guess he will join the Grand Order of Legendary Wingers which consists of names such as Marco Marchionni, Milos Krasic and Federico Bernardeschi.

His pace hasn’t declined that much but he just lacks general sharpness.

Also I get really nervous every time he goes down or makes a sharp turn. Knee ligament injuries are just so horrid.

So, is it only me who thinks he's still explosive and quick? :shifty:
Yes but it's the aggression and furiosity he has lost a bit of, due to fear.

Fucking shit injury. Tbh it's about the most gutted I've been with something Juve-related for years when he got injured, as I thought it could well be the end of a phenomenal player. Hopefully I'm wrong but wouldn't be surprised if he becomes something a little different and not quite as good.

nah hell be fine. I've posted this before, but most athletes say it takes two years after an ACL injury before theyre truly back. This season was really just about getting back on the field and shaking off the rust. So the concern level shouldn't be very high right now. Next season will be the true test.

This.

That first year back, there is still a big mental hurdle to get over, not to mention pain/inflammation in the knee is extremely common and/or muscle issues. All of that combined will lead to declined performance and mess with your head a bit.

I actually give Juve management and medical staff a lot of credit for nothing rushing him back and overusing him when it was apparent he was badly needed.

Going into 2023-24, I expect him to have the training wheels off and he'll be a regular back in the starting XI and giving 75 minutes a game or so.... and by January 2024, we'll all be talking like he never had ACL surgery and is the same guy as before.

Unless you've torn your ACL, you dont understand the mind fuck it has on you. I tore mine at age 18 in my freshman year of college baseball and didnt feel normal again until my junior season. And that's playing baseball, not playing a sport where stopping/starting/change of direction is an important part of your game.

I had a lot of inflammation and pain that I had to play through that affected me mentally, despite being told my knee was 100% fine structurally when I'd get examined & imaging done. I just kept thinking it didnt feel right, something wasnt right, and it was going to give out again.

That's all I can say. It's really really tough mentally. And when I see someone go down with a knee injury, I cringe and can still mentally feel that pain I did when it happened to me.

if you've experienced it, you get what Chiesa has gone through this season. And it's also why I'm 100% confident he'll be significantly more confident/comfortable next season.

isn't it funny you people tried arguing with me how players "rEcOvEr" from ACLs all the time and quoting your magic science medicine imporvement and voodoo and all that junk?

i told you people he was done. none here believed me. once again history has proven me right
