Dybala was certainly not one of the best players in Serie A that season. He skyrocketed once he joined us. Bernardeschi has indeed been better (but is older that Dybala was at the time ofc).

I think he was still great. Less of scorer but does a LOT in our game. Just remember how we played when he was injured. Night and day difference. He takes a lot of responsibilities in our game now, makes him shine less in front of goal but more in everything else.

I'm torn between having wingers to a 4312.
At this point, would Bernardeschi fit in behind the 2 strikers? Can he play there so we can have a sick ass Dybala/Higuain partnership and finally get Mario back to his preferred ST role in rotation with Higgy?
To be honest it makes more sense to change the formation if it means we need to spend more money reinforcing the backline. But what then of Pjaca and Cuads?
Bernardeschi - whatever it costs - and I expect it will be in the realms of £40m (€44m) - will offer substantial weight to our squad strengthening exercise this Summer. He will only improve with age and the assistance of Juventus. Him and Keita alongside Schick, will provide the necessary creativity, guile and commitment that provides the confidence as we go forward. Literally speaking.

If Alex Sandro is sold for thirty pieces of silver, as may well be the case, then Beppe and his cohorts has his/ their work truly made harder trying the fill the hole left by his absence whilst the rest of the defence is aging fast in 3 slots and in the central midfield where we are in serious need of a defensive midfielder who has good all round skills.
However, in the meantime, the decisions have to to be made and in the next 7 days, all will become crystal clear.

You base Pjaca potential roles on what exactly? He didn't show any vision required to play as an AMC nor he proved he can operate in tight spaces as ACM often finds himself in. As for a second striker he clearly lacks composure to score goals. He's a winger, pacey with good dribbling. That's his role.

I think that Allegri had said in the past that Pjaca can be also used as an AMC. Also I am not sure that he misses the composure needed. He hasn't played a lot to be judged to be honest, but vs Porto his finish was quite good. In any case he's young, his primary position can be adapted for the benefit of the team and he has played in these 2 positions again.
Regarding Cuads, I meant as a rightback/wingback in a 4-3-1-2. In such a system the rightback is expected to cover the whole side. I could see Cuads fitting there. Not the best at defending but tactically he is good with a good work ethic too..

On the other discussion, I also think Pjaca has shown nothing to suggest he can play AM. Maybe SS, but definitely not AM.
