Seems good to me. Not worth 50m perhaps but it isn't my money so I could care less. If the board thinks that's the money he is worth well, that's what they are their for.

Seems like a more physical Berardi not to mention he has a pretty accurate left foot and from the vids I've seen he seems to be pretty good at getting those penetrating passes to the strikers.

He is a very good play maker, more strings to his bow than Berardi. However Berardi is a better goal scorer.

I doubt Fiorentina sell him to us though

Bernadeschi is a very good player.

If we had won on Saturday, I guarantee you that the opinions of these players would be different, or at worst, be the same as it was PRIOR to the CL Final. People are now letting the emotions of that loss affect their judgment of our transfer targets.

Schick is a prime example. Prior to Saturday, everyone was drooling over him. Now, they are mocking him as being the savior to our CL hopes.

After you reach a major objective you can start looking for talented players more relaxed, with no pressure you cam start building for the future but we failed at that CL so prospects that could help us in 3-4 years in CL take a secondary place now. For example, I wasn't that into Schick or Berna to begin with as I don't see them capable of superb performance in CL in 1-2 seasons like more established players would.

Schick is in a different class of potential than Bernardeschi for me. It's rare to find someone with those physical talents and technique. You have to take a chance on him 10 times out of 10.

They did reach a major objective.

They just happened to get beat by a team that is worth 3X as much as us, has 5X the spending power, with 10X the brand recognition. Who also happen to be in the middle of a European dynasty. And had a bench that was valued at around 250 million Euro the other night, not counting James Rodriguez.

We can't fight fire with fire when it comes to Real Madrid. Oh, how I wish we could my man, but we are years away from reaching that level, if ever. We can't outspend them, and will never have the depth of talent that they do. I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. We've got to build our own core of players who will get us there again. I know everyone wants to win a CL for Buffon. But in order to do that, god knows how many hundreds of millions have to be spent in transfers and salaries will have to be spent to even gt us on the overall talent level of Real Madrid.

Yep.

People need a few more days to calm themselves down and then they'll enter reality mode.

Our transfer objectives haven't changed or won't change tbh.

The thing here is that this team we have right now doesnt have time to nurture some potential star in the making in 3-4 years time.

What happens otherwise is that we arent going to reach final every season, and then suddenly we will again be in the situation we were when we sold other players to buy new players. And then this cycle just goes on and on were we will be 1 player short of really winning the CL.

Right now we need someone who will make instant impact, who has been around already, like say Alexis who is 28 or Di Maria who is 29 or other examples like that.

Bernadeschi hasnt even figured out what is his natural position. I see lot of people putting him as AM. Wikipedia lists him as a winger. Then i see a game for italy he plays fullback, lol.

Alexis Sanchez alone won't be enough. You still need another attacker, PLUS a worldclass CM if the goal is to get right back into the CL final next year. But is that really the goal? To go all in for one last run with this current setup?

I'm not quite sure that is how this club is going to operate, especially if everyone but, say, Bonucci is still here next year.

I understand your point, but winning a CL would be an objective reached as there's nothing higher than that so you can focus to the future and this is our 2nd final in 3 years.

I get we'we got less $$$ and we spend what we have with much more calculation but until players we paid for like Mandragona, Caldara, Orsolini, Betancur, Schick, etc will reach their prime and let's say they will all be great, we'll no longer have Buffon, BBC, Alves, Marchisio, and Pipita will be at least much weaker...so you get my point? I's like we're running in circles and never reachng our destination.

I accepted that Schick is an extraordinary talent and it's a waste to see him elswhere, but does anyone see him making an impact in CL in the nest 1-2 years while we still have most of our core? Berna may not have his potential but can help more right away, but sill different than a WC winger.

I totally get what you are saying.

But maybe, just maybe.........................................................

This current core has gone as far as it can go?

I think it is. Why did we buy a 29 year old Higuain instead of a 22 year old Icardi or less than 90m would have been enough to get Morata actually here regardless of the buy back.

Im not saying dont buy youth, we are buying it all the time somewhat (Rugani, Shick, potentially Tolisso). Im pretty sure the management actually wants to buy some star who will win the CL with this group we have right now.
