You have all got used to the fact that in the past we were able to stand up against FIGC and justice systems in the doping trials etc. Well, isn't it quite clear that once "we got caught" and we lost our powerhouses meaning the Triade, especially Moggi, that we do not have the same power and connections amongs the deciding elite? We don't have anybody who has real power inside the system.

And yes, the system still exists. He who thinks it's gone now because Moggi is gone is a fool. Gallianis and Della Valles are all still involved and many others like them. We got caught the most and we were punished the most. Milan and the other teams were "saved" because their powerhouses didn't get tarnished. Moggi didn't have any leverage whatsoever because the conversations were all over the news from the beginning. We had to be punished severely because otherwise all the other teams and the whole system would've been under risk.

Does that sound cynical? Yes. Can somebody claim that is all just a stupid conspiracy theory? Yes. But isn't that quite a realistic speculation considering all the facts we know? I think yes.

You say Gigli and others didn't have the balls to stand up against FIGC? I say they didn't have any say whatsoever because Moggi was gone and all the other teams used their connections to distance themselves from Juve and make Juve take the harshest consequences. He was pressured by FIGC, FIFA and probably all the unofficial parties where the big clubs have a say.

Yes, we could've gone the legal route and stand up against all the powers against us. You just have to remember that this time we were all alone. In the past we were there in the upper echelons of power, now we are the scapegoat which needs to be punished in order of the system to continue. The system doesn't have to be a sinister match-fixing conspiracy alliance but an unofficial "I'll do a favor for you if you do for me" thing. If somebody thinks this doesn't happen in business life in general and especially in Italian calcio, you are naiive.

Italian football has been full of scandal since day freakin' one, dont expect it to change with our "punishment"

Viola expect Calciopoli discount
Saturday 2 September, 2006
Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle warns he wants their 19-point Calciopoli penalty reduced to 10 in arbitration.

“We have never considered going to the TAR civil court tribunal,” insisted the businessman, but he pointed out that the meeting with the FIGC would not necessarily be the end of their legal battle.

“Now we’ll accept a verdict from the arbitration that’ll allow us to play a dignified season. With a 10-point penalty, we’d no longer be struggling to stay afloat.”

The Viola were originally demoted to Serie B as a result of the Calciopoli scandal, but restored to the top flight with a 19-point handicap on appeal and stripped of their Champions League place.

“This side will fight to the death to get over this obstacle. I personally maintain I did nothing wrong, apart from falling into some traps. The saddest thing about my unjust three-year ban is that I can’t look my players in the eye just before they go out for the games.”

The President was at last night’s friendly match, a 2-2 draw with Serie B side Arezzo. Massimo Gobbi and Reginaldo were on target for the Viola, with Vigna and Bondi equalising after Alessandro Gamberini’s dismissal.

Under new rules in Italy, disciplinary action during friendly games will be considered 'official’, so Gamberini could well be suspended for the opening game of the Serie A season against Inter on September 9.

Luca Toni took part and is now firmly back in the fans’ good books after changing his mind about a proposed move to Inter.

“Toni is a great man, like all of his teammates,” concluded Della Valle. “He knew we needed him and stayed to help out.”

i know that the uefa r against us, but arent they supposed to be a governing body over the local league associations?
Obviously this trial is unjust and unfair, cant we go to Uefa to have another look at it ?
I mean they r the association that we should go to, something like the UN does?
