Well I hear that the ban could last for multiple of years.
Anyway, my guess is that UEFA and Italian FA has a backdoor agreement to punish Juve (I am almost certain of this on the Italian FA's initiative and willing reponse by UEFA), and as the outcome of verdict is beyond the latter's hand the former is making something of an empty threat to influence the trial.
My stance will be more certain if Milan is admitted to the Champions League, which I believe they will be.
Now, I think there are enough evidence to speculate that both football federations are ganging up on Juve (Just to note: This does not mean we should not be penalized) and I reckon there is a fair chance that Juve can appeal to the court and win it on the basis of unfair treatment.
I am no lawyer so I do not know whether this would be technically viable or not.

I guess, overall, the whole conversation would be meaningless because we probably won't be re-instated and moreover Secco is no fool in trying to get us back to Serie A whatever the cost.

Firstly, as I have mentioned in the past posts, you just cannot see the match fixing(?) in isolation but in relation to how Moggi ran Juve as a whole. My general point was that one has to see match-fixing as a way of providing abnormal return by the management team. And as we all know, Moggi liked to operate on cheap costs, and bargain buys - He is good at it, but you can't beat the market on that alone.
We all know how Moggi and Giraudo benefited from the relatively free powers they enjoyed (Baiocco being the prime example) on a personal level.
If one can establish that there was no way of forseeing the operating acitivities of the management team, then I think we have a strong case to establish the claim that sporting tribunal had no right to give a verdict which influenced the welfare of many people invovled (The position I strongly take).
And coupled this with seemingly unfairness(?) in the treatment received and lack of transparent standard used by the sporting tribunal, I think we should not appeal for penalty (after all I think -17points is an achievable target) but rather financial damage caused. Do you think people would like to see the likes of Palermo in CL instead of Juve? Ofc not! Do you think Milan will be banned from CL? Ofc not, they're just simply too big club, and UEFA aint wanna lose prestige in its competition by banning clubs like this, after they allready lost our precious Juve! That, and Berlusconi can and will bribe everyone neccesary
