Juventus have asked Sampdoria for defender Giulio Falcone, who might land in Turin this month.

The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their defensive department, as requested by Coach Didier Deschamps, and the situation has become even more urgent after the defeat at Mantova.

After reaching an agreement for Ajax man Zdenek Grygera, who will join the club at the end of the season, the Old Lady has now targeted Falcone, who would be available for free in June.

According to reports in Italy, Juventus could ask the Blucerchiati to release the player immediately, although Samp might want the Bianconeri to take back Ruben Oliveira as well in order to finalise the deal.

“I am flattered to know that Juve are interested in me – these opportunities are always positive,” the player told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“However it’s doesn’t depend only on me. If Sampdoria have projects for me for the next year, they will take precedence.”

In the meantime, the Turin outfit is trying to convince Palermo to let defender Andrea Barzagli leave before the end of the term, although this option seems unlikely.

The Bianconeri are willing to offer Marco Marchionni, a reported target for the Rosanero, but chief Maurizio Zamparini is not keen on letting the world champion go, unless he is offered Domenico Criscito or Claudio Marchisio as well.

Also, striker Valeri Bojinov is set to leave Juventus at the end of the season, as the player will return to owners Fiorentina, who will then sell him to Hamburg for around £5m.

 Sampdoria want Juventus to take Olivera back, shows how much he is awful.
i dont get that because fliachi said the other day olivera is the best player in the team... i thought he was doing well?
in any case i would welcome both, we need a winger and we really really need a defender!

He's 33 I think, I'd prefer playing Giannichedda on defense. Gianni is back and Legrottaglie will also in a couple of weeks.

I wouldnt mind Falcone on a loan deal.If we can get him in January on a loan till June, that would be a decent deal. He's a solid player, who brings lots of experience with him.I think what we are lacking in the center of defence is someone who has experience, and can lead the back 4.Falcone would be a decent replacement temporarily.
