Of course, that's why I put the numbers in 3rd place. Gazzetta claimed that Conte asked for Vidal and Pogba to be untouchable, and he gave a green light for all the strikers to be put on the transfer market. If true, and I guess it is, the offers we will receive will play the biggest part in our choice who to sell. Then the characteristics of the strikers follow and in the end it will be about balancing the books. We won't sell Mirko, Matri or Seba for less than 7-7.5m eur, because that will mean a negative economic effect.
I could see an offer of €10m+ coming for Matri. I don't think we would sell Quag for less than 7m either, he is worth more.

1. Juve signed Quagliarella in 2011 for 10.5m eur (we got him in 2010 for 1 year loan worth 4.5m eur, but that doesn't count). He signed a three year contract. Two years already passed, so in order to be in + we will have to sell Quagliarella for 3.5m eur or more.
Correction, he signed a new contract until 2015, so he has 2 years left on the contract and for a positive economic effect he'll have to be sold for 5.25m eur. I guess that's how it works? I have no idea if that 1 additional year plays a part in balancing the books.

Frankly, I think all our strikers are worth more than 8m eur and less than 15m. So, everything under 8m eur is bad business on our side. But I fear that we will sell a striker(s) below their value. We already have one more striker (Llorente) and if we buy another one soon, everyone will know that we're forced to sell. They will wait for the right time to buy one of the needless Juve strikers for much less than the asked and fair price.

P.S: I won't be surprised even if we give one of our strikers on loan to a team that can pay the wages. If we don't sell until late August, a loan it will be.

That looks like a team that Luigi DelNeri is planning to build Juve into.

Quagliarella's book value as at 31 Dec 2012 was 6.38m (refer to page 29 of the link). So yeah 5.25m is very close to what his book value would be during the transfer window. Anything below that and we will have to write a loss on disposal. But since Jorge Martinez book value is still 4.4m after probable amortization we should look to get more from Quag than just his book value to cover loss on Martinez.

Regarding our strikers, I believe everyone is for sale. The choice who to sell will depend on the offers we will receive and the characteristics of the strikers we will buy. But as of now, everyone has equal chances to be sold.
Teams (read: Marotta) are also paying lots of attention on bookkeeping, so, in order to generate a positive economic effect, we will have to sell the strikers for this amount:

2. Juve signed Matri in 2011 for 15.5m eur (we got him 6 months earlier on half year loan for 2.5+Ariaudo). He signed a four year contract. Two years already passed, so in order to be in + we will have to sell Matri for 7.75m eur or more.

3. Juve signed Vucinic in 2011 for 15m eur. He signed a four year contract. Two years already passed, so in order to generate positive economic effect, we will have to sell Mirko for 7.5m eur or more.

4. Juve signed Giovinco in 2012 for 11m eur. He signed a three year contract. One year already passed, so in order to be in + we will have to sell Giovinco for 7.33m eur.

As you can see, Quag is the most attractive selling object, as far as Marotta is concerned :D
How about salary, do you take that into account?

Team player too.

He is too effectiv. Sell
Bunch of effective players on the team. Let's sell if that's how it works.

Hope beppe or paratici mails his goals to minute ratio stats to the interested buyers. That wud be very helpful.
Yea. And maybe they can sign off the mails with the word sell.

This makes for interesting reading. But does the club look into other variables. To take an example like the one you gave of Quag. 3rd to 4th striker on the team but an effective season and decent strike rate. Isn't he worth more than 5.25m to the club, given that this kind of amount would buy a big club like Juve nothing in return?

My thinking is that the best or most effective way to use our strikers on the market are, as mark weights in bigger deals, rather than sell them for cash coz they won't really carry as much value when monetizing them.

If we end up not buying anyone other than Llorente, I'd keep him and get rid of Matri.

4 MoTM performances. Only behind Vidal, Marchisio and Vucinic.

And to think, he isn't even a starter. How people would sell this guy, being our top scorer in the CL and second highest scorer in the league (without penalties mind you) is beyond me.

Offers so much more than the money we would receive from his sale.

At least he has that striker instinct and hunger that i see lacking in all of our forwards.

When he goes in he is always in the "fuck everyone, pass me the ball and ill shoot thats it" Mood. And he doesnt give a fuck, he just wants to score. Thats the mentality a forwward should have. Always incisive , always determined to be aggressive. And he has the tools to score, unlike giovinco which sadly is not effective as a goal scorer, and Matri who is not as incisive as quag and lacks ball dominion.

I dont see this in any of our other forwards, Vucinic included.

Vucinic included? :D Vucinic is exactly the opposite of how you described Quag.

I think a lot of people want him gone because of you.
That is probably the poorest, lamest and ill-conceived crap I've read in my short year at the tuz... That is an antagonistic and unprovoked stab at someone for no reason other than they think differently to you, and rather than saying something logical or rational, you say that...

Che brutta figura.. :sergio:
