No one in our attack is. They all are only good enough to sit on the bench in a team competing in the CL, perhaps only Vucinic can start beside a top striker and look semi good consistently. I cannot believe my eyes reading Vucinic/Matri/Quag's threads. They have fanboys, unbelievable.

:agree:

None of our strikers will start in any team left in the quarters, bar Galata and i have huge doubts over that. Vucinic is clearly talented unlike the others but he isn't consistent and can't start for a team fighting for the CL.

Maybe he can but clearly needs more quality at his side and on the wings to perform better.

One might wonder why the best striker of a team gets all the criticism especially considering those he competes with for a starting spot. Simple, he is not good enough either. Hating on each of the strikers is even more ridiculous because they are what they are, average players who cannot make the difference when it matters.

Different context though. No one hypes any of our forwards the way baggio does to Quag. Everyone knows that our attack is simply not good enough. Some, included me, believe that in this 3-5-2 Conte seems to love, Mirko-Matri are our best partnership upfront. Quag is simply good at nothing, apart from scoring that brilliant one-of goal every once in a while.

I don't consider myself a Matri fanboy, irrelevant of what you may think. I consider Matri to be good enough to stay on the bench next season for someone better who can offer more guarantees, which after all already showed that he can take such position in the team and don't bitch about it unlike a certain nobody.

Was Quag the reason we lost?
Absolutely not.

Was Quag the worst player on the pitch?
Yes, I believe he was. He frustrated the hell out of me with his piss poor positioning, complete lack of intelligent runs, etc.

But I have to admit that I did agree the decision to start him last night.

Right, i tried having a serious discussion wkth you but you disregarded it ( perhaps it was my fault, i did ask you to do it) now ill just not bother. Fact is that quag is a very unlikeable figure, partially because he does not have a fraction of the needed talent to back up his horse shit attitude. I hope we sell him to one of the Milan teams, firstæy because its going to weaken their offense drastically and second so i can write what i really feel about this most overrated, unsympathetic and whimpy goofballer.
Having met him, I can confirm that he's rather unsympathetic & arrogant :D

Hypes?? You have been going on about Quag all week long in the match threads, in this one. Being a fan, doesn't tantamount to hyping a player. On the contrary, you hate the player, because you show 0 objectivity in your analysis towards him in particular. Defending him from that is not hyping. There's a difference. I've even pointed this out to you before. So please get your facts straight.

Ive said this before and ill say it again for your benefit. No player is above the team and above criticism, and it includes who you think i consider to be the 'all and mighty' Quag. But that criticism must come at a time that it is relevant and applicable. Last night, and the entire week before that he was criticized by you. You cannot do that for a Juve player. You need to respect the fact that he's on your team but with your comments, it's almost like you can't wait for the player to fail so you can come around here to spew your venom. I love how convenient your argument becomes, almost childish. Oh and you're not a Matri fanboy??

The Vucinic fanboys here just don't seem to realize that he's not good enough despite arguably being the best we've got. He's actually a good barometer to measure how good our new forwards are. Every forward coming in HAS to be better than Mirko in terms of talent, consistency and the ability to change the game. At the end of August, Mirko should be relegated to a bench player because everyone else should be head and shoulders better than him. That is the only way our attack will become stronger.

This is my point. I don't think anyone should be singled out for last night's loss, because we failed collectively, as a unit. We were even worse than we were in the first leg. Clearly, our mentality was lacking and our preparation was not enough to turn this tie around. For a large part of the game, I didn't even feel like Juve were the home team. It was almost like we were lost. Such a pitiable display.

Has Vucinic-Quagliarella ever worked? I don't believe it has, in fact I've thought several times that it is our worst partnership as a combination.

The problem here is that they are also the two forwards we have you individually are most likely to win us a game.

I don't think anyone is really doing that. Let's be honest, better players than Quagliarella were basically crap over the two legs, and as a team we never looked cohesive.

Hear what you are saying, but I'd rather paddle for shore with a broken oar than a piece of driftwood.

No, it hasn't. And I agree that's our worst possible combination.

The reason I preferred this combo for this particular game is basically your 2nd point. If we were to get anything out of it, we'd need a shitload of luck & some massive surprises or an indivual moment of brilliance out of nowhere. So enter Quag, I guess.
Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't even consider fielding them both.
