"I think that Juventus are ultra-convinced of keeping him”

He thinks they are ultra-convinced? What the hell..

And he should be sold, he is our oldest striker, we've already signed a CF in his position and there is some actual interest in him. I think keeping him around is just bad business and will end up being one of those players we'll have a hard time getting rid of when he's over 32 and he gets way too much bench time. Sometimes we just never seem to know when to let our players go and instead end up getting stuck with them or having to loan them out and pay for their salaries while not even using them.

Excellent piece of logic!

You should be appointed as the new Juventus sporting director.

Amauri, Iaquinta and many others, they all played good in small periods. I don't think Quag will offer this team consistency, that's his problem. He has never been consistent and Conte has never really shown any bigger faith in him. If the interest is hot for Quag in the summer, we should take it while its there. Losing Quag is not a big problem if we're really willing to invest in the striking department. I don't really think anyone of our strikers would be a loss for us if they ended up leaving. Quag just happens to be the oldest, the one Conte seems to trust the least and there seems to be interest in him.

It's not a big deal as some people make it seem to be, he could easily be replaced.

If the offer is right sure, but I dont see the need to look for suitors. Actually considering the rotation and the work Conte expects from our strikers, all have pretty decent numbers. Imagine any two of them had played most of the games, you'd be talking double figures easily.

This all points to Llorente being the only attacker coming in this summer.

Llorente - new
Giovinco - just bought
Vucinic - Conte loves
Matri - decent form
Quag - decent form
Anelka - hit/miss
Bendtner - bye

Llorente, Vucinic, Giovinco, Matri, Quagliarella (Anelka)

Very likely.

I don't like Conte's overrotation of the strikers, but it has seen all the strikers become dependable when called upon.

Llorente being the only striker coming in the summer would be a massive disappointment, but not nearly as disgusting as if we brought in someone like Osvaldo or Diamanti.

Perhaps the market will present opportunities, and we might end up with Benzema or Sanchez. We need a high quality SS, and if we can't get that, then no need to acquire a lowlife like Osvaldo for example who offers close to nothing; moreover, we'd be stuck with him for 4-5 years. However, if Inter end up getting Sanchez, then Marotta should be lynched, as a mediocre side with no CL for a 2'nd season running shouldn't be able to acquire a player of his caliber while we sit around and watch. It's all hypothetical of course. Let's wait and see ;)

Why do I get the feeling that everyone would be overjoyed with Llorente being the only arrival, had he cost 20m+ euros?

I could be wrong, but ... I just get the feeling that a lot of members, once it was clear that Llorente would arrive on a free bosman, became a bit: meh...

yup.

The form of quag lately makes me think that maybe We will not buy any big signing striker. At most.... we would need a replacement for Giovinco... but i dont see us selling him after just one season that cannot be touted as a "failure" per se.

Our striker sitution is tricky... because, even when we dont have a superior striker like the big sides... all our strikers workrate have been superb and all have aided to our cause this season. Obviously bender and anelka will go and make room for llorente.....

But if i have ot choose who will leave...... i think the question will be around vucinic or giovinco.

Master, do you believe Marotta is capable of getting the likes of Benzema?
If Madrid bring in Cavani, one of Benz and Higuain will probably leave. With other teams busy fighting over Falcao, Suarez, JoJo, Neymar, and the like, we can sneak in and grab him before anyone else has a chance.

Obviously, Chelsea and City could butt in and fuck things up, but we do stand a fair chance if we act swiftly.
