Do you guys remember how much Andy hated Iaquinta? 
That was right there with Cron's hate for Molinaro.
In Iaq's first official match for Juve, he entered the pitch somewhere around 70th minute. In those 20 minutes he scored a goal, then he made an assist and then he won a penalty and converted it. Basically, 2 goals and an assist in 20 minutes or so.
But check out Andy's ratings on that match and pay attention to his rating for Iaquinta:

He was banned and he still couldn't resist to bash Iaquinta. He gave the scorer of a brace and an assist the lowest rating

After the trofeo tim there has been a lot of bashing for quaglia considering the chances he missed and that he should be sold , but i still have to see someone talk about matri . Yes quaglia lost 3 clear chances , he never was a killer in front of the keeper , but he hasn't missed this much either , also he has been training only for 9 days so the legs are still heavy . The main point is , yes quaglia missed 3 chances , but at least he was 3 times in front of the keeper , he did the right movement , on the other hand matri was inexistent . In my opinion if quaglia continues like he will start scoring , on the other hand matri had 0 chances and if he continues like this he will never score .
Still it was a just a meaningless match , but in general i think that Quaglia > Matri and if a good offer comes i wouldn't hesitate to sell them both

What im saying though is who would you rather have if we didnt get a big striker? Also im not basing it off of the pre season game im basing it off of last season. Matri wasnt in form and neither was Quagliarella but they both got their chances and I would rather keep Matri if we dont get a big striker and even if we do. Matri will be a good sub and could be useful when CL so we can rest the squad.

Iaquinta was a useful player, constant injuries killed him, considering he relies so much on physique. My point is that I wouldn't put Quagliarella's current standing down to just his talent.
I agree that he is not a player who sees things instantly, but I don't think he is a dummy. Also his physical and technical attributes play as much a part of his positional problems. He lacks real speed and dribbling ability, has strength to play as a CF, but no instinct to finish. Because he likes to lay the ball off and shoot from range he often gets deployed outside the area. He's not the first or last player who can't find a real position. Really you would play him as an accompanying forward who would net 12 a season, given regular games.

I never said he was spectacular. Initially I made a passing comment about him looking well off his game since his injury, which still stands.
It's not as if Juve always had a squad of super forwards, there were plenty of just 'useful' guys around. Quagliarella shouldn't be a starter, but he hasn't always been this poor.
As a final comment, this is not me suggesting we should not sell him. Ultimately players are judged on their worth, Quags hasn't shown a lot so questions will be asked. I'd assume he will get another season.

How much could Juve realistically sell him for? Including him in a deal for another player is the best option because I don't think other clubs are willing to offer (even half) the money Juve spent on him. If Juve are not going to include him in another deal (say Jovetic) in order to lower the price, I don't see any point in trying to sell him for money. He's a good squad player who is familiar with the team atmosphere and could be a game changer due to his unique abilities. I'd much rather him to Pazzini, for example, because Quag is more versatile and unpredictable.
I'd rather have Pazzo than Quag. The former has something this team lacks in the box, while Quag doesn't offer anything that we don't have at the moment.

That article only assumes that Juve would consider offers ~12m eur. It doesn't say that Zenit offers that. I think that we'll be willing to consider offers lower than 12m euro.

Don't know, never rated Pazzini and I don't know how good he would be at Juve. Coming from the bench, Quag could cover both support striker and CF roles. I'd ideally keep both Matri and Quag (for the bench) and add a goal-scorer like Cavani or van Persie but since Matri would have more suitors and Juve would get more money from selling him, I think letting Matri go would benefit the team more than selling Quag. Niether should start anyways.
