Fuck Maicon hard for robbing him of a goal.
Yea true. While he did well to slot it from the angle he had, I wonder if he should've smashed it instead. Would've helped his confidence a lot no doubt. But I felt he did better than Matri and even Vucinic today in making his presence felt.

Was a bad pass from Chiellini, he should have shot it himself. He did good enough from that angle IMO. Glad he was preferred over Borriello.

Of course he didn't do good enough from that angle. What a ridiculous thing to say.
Haha. No I said, he did well to be on the end of it and slot it.

True dat. Was good to see him go through the paces. Definitely did better than Matri, Borriello and himself in his in previous outings.

Regaining touch is a matter of getting consistent game time. For strikers specially, their entire rhythm, movement and game hinges on confidence. Be it Alex, Quag or Matri, all of them just need to have the faith of the coach, because they're effectively good players. But when you have a guy like Borriello start ahead of you, despite the fact that all of them have more goals, it can be very debilitating to their game. However, thankfully, I think Conte has noticed that he's getting more goals with Borriello off the pitch than on. And today, using Matri, Alex and Quag before the game was decided showed that he still believes in them.

Well he cannot be the same if conte keeps using borrielo just to see if he is worth, at expense of quag.

He needs minutes,,,, but between matri and vuci he will not get them.

IMO we have to many question mark players in our attack. This department is the one that requires the most tweaking... because we have a lot of forwards who seem to be capable but we dont get a proportionately good end product. Some will have to be sacrificed to make room for at least one real top tier forward

I am quite worried about the amount of sitters he has missed this season. From the top of the mind I can think of the one against Roma in the league, then against Roma in Coppa, and against Milan.

Confidence. And I would say a little unlucky too. Like the Licht block against Cesena was it? And Maicon on Sunday. Makes a world of a difference to a striker when not scoring and playing regularly. I could be wrong about this, but a trikes more than anybody are the most psychologically affected. Last year, he scored a bunch of audacious goals. Also, don't know how serious this report was, where Conte and he had a chat about playing that LWF role in the 433. Given he did that earlier in his career at Samp.

I am quite worried about his overall level of play.

And no, I don't buy the "not enough playing time" excuse. Because if I did, I'd have to do the same for Borriello. And that's just not going to happen

Quagliarella open to wide role
By Football Italia staff

Fabio Quagliarella will now be considered by Juventus boss Antonio Conte as a wide attacking player in his 4-3-3.

That role currently belongs to Mirko Vucinic, but La Stampa is today suggesting that the Italian could become the first alternative to the Montenegrin in the closing weeks of the season.

Quagliarella has played in that role before at Sampdoria and Udinese, but he’s mainly been used in the middle since his switch to Turin in 2010.

It is being claimed that Quagliarella has spoken to Conte over the last week about the possible change in position.

The 28-year-old has struggled to get a regular game in attack for Juve this term as his two goals in 17 appearances underline.

So far this season, Conte has sometimes used Emanuele Giaccherini and Marcelo Estigarribia on the left of Juve’s attack in absence of Vucinic.

How many 90 minute games has he played to give you an idea of his overall level of play? Generally, you give someone 15 mins and he doesn't score, he's considered out of form. But 90 minutes, when he's at the pace of the game, he has that many more chances, he would perhaps convert one of them. Thats how players find form. Borriello has had more game time than Quag since he's been here and quite frankly, he's done nothing to warrant it.

Remember Gigi last year? A bunch of people wanted Storari to start ahead of him because of his dip in form. He is a different player this season because of continuity. If Quag has to be sold because he doesn't fit the formation or make room for a player that does, it's understandable. But to say that he's average or wasteful or his overall form is bothersome is just unfair because he hasn't had even one game that he's played start to finish. Oh wait he has. And he scored in that one.

By all means lets judge him as good or bad, but give him a fair yardstick before we do.

Could be an interesting development. If Quag can solve that problem it may allow us to sell Giovinco outright and use that to fund the RWF, and/or CF roles. Make it happen Earl. :D
