All of us were given warnings in the summer to avoid this. I don't see how this has stopped. Matri may have gone, but you'll still find a lot of provocation in this thread. If you read through the last few pages of this thread and the match thread, you'll find that some fairly average posters are coming here purely with the intent to get a reaction out of so called fanboys. Which they began in the match thread. It's cool to criticise a player if his performance isn't worthy, but when the entire team sucks and he still gets out there and does his job, but is continually ridiculed, then yea, that's ban/infraction worthy. Honestly, I'm sure all of us come here to have insightful discussions, but it's pretty damn disgraceful how low some threads can go. In all these years, it's probably the first time the forum is having to deal with stuff like this. @JuveJay, @Red @swag, @Azzurri7
This was your first post in this thread after he scored:

Klin and W are like his bitches. Let's officially induct them into Quag's harem. He's been owning them so hard.

Other haters:

It's only Chievo
He scored with a tap in
He doesn't connect with his other partners

Some members should definetly get banned for some time if not from forum(it's against the rules to insult Juve players and what they do is exactly that, plus create a drama where there should be celebration) then from this thread at least for the way they act here, but since they are the "domesticated pets" of this forum they get a pass.
There are no actual insults here, at least that I can see. The issue is the trolling and counter-trolling.

You'll notice the sentence just after the one that you've highlighted, the provocation actually started in the match thread.
Can't follow that during the game, and does it really matter?

What we would ideally see is not a circle jerk in each player thread, because this is a discussion forum, not a fan page. Everyone should act more responsibly, because the other option is just handing out straight infractions for trolling, regardless of their POV.

It's great to support the player, we should all be supporting someone whilst they are doing well, but for example I noticed with that post you pre-empted and crushed what might have been valid discussion to go one up on someone. Personally I thought Quagliarella didn't combine very well with Llorente, and for me this is (as you know) my bugbear with him. But of course, if he is scoring goals and we win I am happy.

I'll look through there when I have more time (I post mostly during work), but I can't follow it during the game. I tried that once and felt like repeatedly punching myself in the face.

I scrolled through some pages of the live thread last night.

It's absolutely great reading.

You'll notice, my first post in this thread came after the match was over not just because I wanted call out certain members who had been commenting on the player through the game. It is hard to not notice such comments when you're following the game in the live match thread. You'll even notice some posts here last week, when the player didn't even play in the last game.

I said this and always have. No player is above the team and criticism is always welcome. Have you noticed Rollie's posts about the player in question? His arguments and criticisms do not bother on ridicule. This isn't about individuals anyway. It's the overall quality of the experience when interacting across threads. It should be collective responsibility but when people are not willing to see that it's always going to have a knock on effect with a side opposing their view. And you're absolutely right about this being a forum, and not a fan page. That by its very essence should mean showing a little more respect to the collective cause of the team and it's members.

The Quag fanboys are not the ones that want to cause trolling and arguments etc in here.. you'll find such activity would continue from one side if the other were removed but not the other.

Context, this is Nzoric, Nzoric, this is context. Get to know each other and use protection while you're at it.

Before we got into this discussion, I posted my thoughts on Quag and Llorente in the latter's thread. That's because I am viewing the game as a Juve fan first and foremost. There seems to be a grave misunderstanding here. People seem to think that the fanboys want their preferred player to always start or that he is above criticism.

Let me clarify that stance. That's not what it is. It's about supporting the player while he plays for the team, and if you can't appreciate his efforts despite scoring a goal despite always being the worst one, on the pitch, then there's no need to ridicule the player. For all the years that I have been here, it's almost come to a point where in the last year I've never been able to give my constructive criticism or analysis of matches because it's almost impossible to have discussions that mean anything related to the team. The quality of the posts and the direction the forum is taking is bound to suffer.

yep, none of us are claiming he should be a starter, or that he is above criticism and more mature opinions like JJ's etc are ok because he appreciates the goals while others just say crap, useless etc even after bailing us out several times.

Like yourself, you mean? What with the continuous posting of the Quag smiley.

From where I'm standing, both sides are equally responsible.
A Quag smiley in a Quag thread? Fancy that! :groan:

It shouldn't be the criticism of any player that's the ban-able offense. Its the petty and personal arguments that unfold over it.

It's true. Eg: Refer to page 609 of this thread. Even when the player didn't play a match, you had posters coming on here and saying: it feels good for the team to win without you etc.

The so called fan boys are unlikely to be instigators. The general trend and you may see it in this and some other player threads. They only come out to support the player when he's hated on/ridiculed. A lot of the aggressive reactions stem from the aggressive hate.
