At leat we can admit that Quag had a better season last season, although not by a mile. All you have to say about Matri and 11-12 is that he was shit. Which isn't true.
Sure, Quag did have a better season, and it may not have been by a mile. But it's definitely more impressive that he had a better season with less minutes than Matri.

Yeah he was "shit" because Conte inextricably dropped him for the useless walking STD that was Marco Borriello. Barely got any meaningful playing time in the second half of the season after his brilliant September to January. And yet he was still our top scorer in the end.
I agree the drop was inextricable. Matri had actually done no wrong to be dropped. But by the same measure, Quag has done no wrong himself (even after the Alessio incident he played), at the times he was benched this season for months at a stretch. He has not had 5 games straight under Conte's reign. Can you imagine what he'd have done wi some continuity? Matri had a little more luck in terms of continuity at the club coz he replaced Quag post injury under Del Neri and continued to play under Conte in his first season for the first half of the season. These things make a difference.

well you are talking about players having had "shit seasons" etc. so I thought I'd give you the full picture of what Matri accomplished in 10/11. And you also consider it relevant or some excuse that Quag got a lengthy injury layoff.

That Matri got benched by Borriello doesn't prove anything, and I think Matri have done enough both prior to Borriello's arrival and after Borriello went, to prove that Conte was very wrong in opting for Mr. Herpes.

The latter's goal against Cesena was a fantastic moment, though, but Matri has done much more.
It's unfair to say Matri has done much more J. Nobody has dominated and carried the frontline under Marrotta's reign, the way Quag did before the injury hampered his season. Last season, and I'm sure you'll admit was a write off for Quag because he came off a horrid injury and Conte didn't even let him into the team set up before the first few months into the season. Similar to what happened to Isla this season. Despite that he returned 4-5 goals despite his limited appearances. This season, they both started with a level playing field. Same odds. Limited game time. Hardly any continuity. I think under those conditions Quag proved to be more adaptable., and I'd say that's because he has a bit more to his game.

Omg, he is not even as fast as Padoin. Sell.

Who wouldnt want to stay at Juve? The only way for a player to go is either the Coach tells the player they arent needed or the other team offers a craZY amount of money in wages and a transfer fee that will force the club to sell

Matri’s Champions League dream
By Football Italia staff

Alessandro Matri says he fulfilled a childhood dream with Juventus during the course of the 2012-13 campaign.

“It was great to make my debut in the Champions League last season,” the 28-year-old said from Juventus’ summer training retreat. “It was a dream come true.

“It’s the most important competition I’ve played in and something you dream of doing as a youngster. It’s just a shame we went out in the way we did.”

The former Cagliari man netted twice in nine Champions League outings for the Bianconeri before they lost in the quarter-finals to eventual winners Bayern Munich.

Matri is now back in training with his teammates after they won their second consecutive championship last term.

“It’s been a tough start, but it’s always nice to get going again and think about the new campaign that’s on the horizon,” he added.

There's a rumor flying around that Quag is publishing a new book for parents on how they could help their children build a stronk karakta like his to help them in their life when they grow up.
