I said he was shit in second half of 11-12, which is true.

Here:

10-11 Quag
11-12 Matri
12-13 Quag

:chin:
No, it is not true, he wasn't. For instance, how are you shit in the second half of 11-12 when you score one of the most important goals of our season, the one at San Siro? And he scored others, and assisted. And as for 2010/11, Matri scored 20 goals that season, 11 for Cagliari, 9 for Juventus.

It's:
10/11 Matri
11/12 Matri
12/13 Quag

Yes, Quag got injured, but that's tough luck. You can't just put it as a fact that he would've continued his great run of form. We will never know if he would've.

Yeah he was "shit" because Conte inextricably dropped him for the useless walking STD that was Marco Borriello. Barely got any meaningful playing time in the second half of the season after his brilliant September to January. And yet he was still our top scorer in the end.

That season isn't representative. Quag was returning from injury. Remember? :D

He got benched by Borriello, anyone that gets benched by Borriello (including Quag - but ACL) is shit. I really don't see the relevance of what he did at Cagliari to Juventus. I really couldn't give two fucks about what he did at Cagliari. Sorry but I'm just not going to include what a player did at another club when comparing Juventus players

well you are talking about players having had "shit seasons" etc. so I thought I'd give you the full picture of what Matri accomplished in 10/11. And you also consider it relevant or some excuse that Quag got a lengthy injury layoff.

That Matri got benched by Borriello doesn't prove anything, and I think Matri have done enough both prior to Borriello's arrival and after Borriello went, to prove that Conte was very wrong in opting for Mr. Herpes.

The latter's goal against Cesena was a fantastic moment, though, but Matri has done much more.

I don't really consider it an excuse, I just said it's obviously a tad unfair to compare seasons because he was coming off an ACL injury but I still gave the season to Matri.

Being benched does prove something considering his form, even if it was the wrong option which I agree with.

Del Piero got benched by Borriello too...is he shit?

Not saying Matri is anywhere DPs level, but using the walking herpes simplex was a big mistake in Conte's first season with us.
SS not CF

I agree

Im a Quag fan but really Matri is 1000 times the player that Borellio is, no idea why Conte thinks so highly of him, he is a lump of shit, Matri should not have been benched for that idiot
Indeed, it had nothing to do with him being better than Matri, Conte was unquestionably stubborn with his constant selection of Borriello which failed in pretty much every game (besides Cesena)

I know, he wanted someone who could play with 'back to goal' which was one of the many things Borrellio couldn't do (as well as play football)

His only redeeming factor was his Hitler-esque haircut and moustache.

Thank fuck we signed Llorente. Now that's a player who can play with his back to the goal.
:agree: yeah I really like Llorente, he wont just add goals but the way he will hold up the ball so our wing-backs and midfielders can make runs upfield will be a major element of our play next season, he is a giant improvement over Borellio in terms of ability to play back to goal but in fairness I think Rubinho could play with back to goal better than that lump of shit
