Hammers consider Quagliarella
By Football Italia staff

Fabio Quagliarella seems set to leave Juventus, with West Ham joining Fenerbahce and Wolfsburg in the race.

The striker is among Juve’s top scorers this season with 11 goals in 24 games between Serie A, the Champions League and Coppa Italia.

Having slipped down the pecking order and with Fernando Llorente due to arrive from Athletic Bilbao in June, it seems inevitable that Quagliagol will be leaving Turin.

The 30-year-old has been linked with Wolfsburg in Germany and Turkish side Fenerbahce for some time.

According to TalkSport, West Ham United are the latest club to show an interest in Quagliarella.

The quag situation will always be difficult for us because, in one hand, he is almost always scoring when given the chance! And on the other, he never gets to play constantly and the impending arrival of llorente and other striker means that someone will have to go... And for the look of things he is the most likely to be sacrificed because of age and because the other strikers seem to have reasons to stay in the eyes of Conte:

Gio will most likely be given another season to show if he can finally adapt and leave behind everything that's going off for him this season.
Vucinic seems to be the number one choice for Conte when the time comes to choose forwards for a game.
Matri seems to be a good soldier, accepting the bench and also scoring when called upon.

But anyways, if we sign another top rated striker in the upcoming mercato, we will have maybe to offload someone else with Quags?

The situation has been beyond his control really. You can't blame him for it. Even still, I think if were to get a Suarez type player in attack, then I feel Gio should be the one to go, because Quag and Matri are as good as any bench players we are going to find around Italy. They're efficient, theyv adapted, they a cept their role and they give it their all. I dont see Gio and Vucinic accepting bench roles as easily.

I don't deny it, I also wouldn't mind if we sell Matri if it meant getting an upgrade.

I'd rather sell Quagliarella however, without a doubt. I don't like his play style.

I would sell gio first sincerely, because even when I like him and wanted him here, I have to admit that we can get something better. We could say that he needs maybe one more season for him to adapt.... But from what i have seen, I really don't know, or have my doubts about how much he can improve with us and if he can adapt a system that doesn't suit him at all.

Not just that. But as a starter, Gio is going to hold down a position that can be held by a much, much better player. As a starter. Don't see the point in keeping him around because we aren't going to get too many opportunities to cash in on him. But I definitely see one of him or Vucinic go over this season and the next. Either way, it's in our interests to consider valid alternatives already.

Doesn't say much for the remainder of the attack, when a 'scrub' is more effective than them. There's a reason he has so many clubs interested in him on a consistent basis. You can hate his playing style all you like, but he knows how to score a goal or two. So don't go on about it till somebody else measures up to the task.

You make him sound like Van Nistelrooy.

Fenerbache and West Ham aren't the sort of clubs that Quag will leave Juventus for.
True dat. But then again, Fiorentina, Roma, Inter, Wolfsburg have shown interest which shows fair recognition for his talent. In addition to Fener and the Hammers.
