Quag is having a good run of form at the moment scoring goals. Definitely deserves to start alongside Vucinic.

I hope he gets to play with the team more and understand how they function so that he can make better decisions. It is always good to see Quag doing those shots that totally surprises the keeper, and it will be even better if he can finish those 1 on 1 chances like those against Cech and Marchetti

He's selfish on too many occasions. Would've been great had he passed the ball more. It's obvious he wanted to score and sometimes it's a negative attitude. I like Quag but he should relax and the goals will be coming.
:agree:

Especially on that occasion when he didn't give back to Licht.

Vucinic, Giovinco, Matri nor Bendtner could even dream of scoring some of the pearlers Quagliarella has done in his time...

Audacity, insanity, imagination... Call it what you want, but Quags has it in spades; and as things stand, every game he plays, every goal he scores, his confidence and self-belief grows.. On his day his finishing is truly sublime, and second to none, he is able to strike the ball with such force and conviction, determined he wants to score and has a desire to beat the keeper whenever possible, even by his ridiculous standards!! Just a shame he no longer has ADP to play off.. :(

I only wish he scored that potshot from halfway against Napoli last year on the return leg, that would have been goal of the season without doubt.. Only Quaglia has the capacity to even pull it off let along succeed (actually I lie, I recall either in that same game, or around that time, Vidal came close to a similar shot); but more to the point, none of our remaining strikers are capable of that, and that is what makes Quags unique, and thus an indispensable weapon in our attacking armoury!

I disagree. Quag by and large does a good job distributing the ball and spreading out play. It is one of the strengths of his game. Last might wasn't just about his movement, but also him bringing those around him into the attacking third with some quick thinking and good passes. If you're referring to Licht, yes making the pass was a better decision, but that said, most strikers jn his situation, would go for goal, because they're riding a wave of confidence. Off all our strikers, Quag has maximum awareness of where the goal is, at any given time, and at times, those so called selfish decisions have more to do with instinct than intent.

and to think, some people preferred Pazzini over him last mercato
They know who they are. I remember going full retard in that Pazzo thread.

Biggest surprise of the season, for me personally. Hope he keeps this up.
Me too. I've been so wrong about Quag, many of us were. Except for baggio maybe.

Also, has he done some hair transplant or what? He has better hair now than he did his first season with us.

How is his knee, anyway?

I was slightly scared, cause at a point yesterday, he stretched and stayed down holding his left knee...but then he scored so wasn't worried about it.

Nah, there were a few, including myself, that remembered his form when he came to Juventus, and that it was a sign of his true potential. Back in preseason, there were a lot of peeps discrediting him without giving him a proper chance.

Last season he could have been in the same form as he is today if it wasnt for Borrielo and some questionable decitions from Conte, but all is fine now.

I blame Borrielo for quags and Matri situations.... Luckily it seems Conte learned his lesson and hopefully he wil keep Bender away from the starting 11.

baggio doesn't count, he's a fanboy of his. It's like saying you were right about Gio if he would really start playing like a champion :D

Fuck yeah.

IMO it was better to stay with what we got instead of doing last day panic buys. The day Marotta will bring someone, better to be a superb forward or just dont do a thing and fight with what we have, because the borrigols and the benders are good only to lower the morale of our more important strikers like matri and quag.

The Dane wasn't even a buy, so please don't call this a panic buy, he was brought in because we didin't manage to buy a decent forward, he's just a cover and so far he was used like that too.

Hardly as big a surprise as you make it out to be. The problem with people/fans like yourself, and I remember our discussions about Quag, were largely based on his performances for the team last season. A lot of people made that mistake. That should've never been a yardstick to judge him. Even if we look at his early years, he was consistently a 12-13 goal striker and more when you included Europa at Udine etc, and was well on his way to beating his domestic numbers in his first season at Juve. It said a lot about his temperament and how ready he was to play at a bigger team where he could prove what kind of goal ratio he was actually capable of creating. I say this all the time not just about Quag but all strikers with potential, all they need is continuity. And I think it will serve Conte really well to grant somebody like Quag that.

I'm very glad you admit that Suns. It's good to see some objectivity always :)

Common Raz. Admittedly I'm a fan boy, but fans are easy to lose, especially at the 'tuz. :D

As long as he doesn't get injured I think he'll get 20 this season. Every time he holds that knee, my breath stops a bit.
Hard to say really. To be a 20 goal a year striker, you have got to be playing very free mentally. Quag needs to be a definite starter no matter what, for the rest of the season and he could possibly achieve that and more, and we may inculcate the striker we were looking for, from within the ranks. Its not easy for your confidence when you have a bad game and are in danger of being benched as a result. But if we give him game time, I think he will hit a season high tally.

The thing is he tries shots from impossible positions at times where if he had just waited a fraction of a second he could have put a team-mate through on goal.
