Even if we somehow miserably fail this year, at least we know that we have players that will grow a lot. Even Rabiot (25) and Dybala (26) are still very young. And Ronaldo with his fitness levels isnt too much of a problem either. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’d stay 2 more years if the project is interesting enough.

with the addition of Chiesa I think they have done an amazing job this summer. Just look at the squad 12 months ago and compare.

That squad somehow seemed below par in every position (except CB and GK). We had mediocre fullbacks, a bunch #6s pretending to be Box to box players, one winger, one disaster, aging Golzalo, a SS and CR7 with one of the most uninspiring benches in recent memory

Not sure what that frankenstein squad was supposed to accomplish but right now we have quality and depth across the team. Lot more of these players have the versatility to do more than just one specific role too.

Of course we have to remember this is a transitional period with a new coach and young players but this is really a much better built squad than last seasons. Like night and day.

Criticized him a lot (particularly for the Dybala debacle last summer, not sure if i will ever forgive him for his involvement in Sarri's story), but given the circumstances i think he did one heck of a job with the limited resources that were available to him. Only slight negative is that we didn't receive any transfer fee for any of the players that left, but i think he can be excused for that as well.

In summary:

90 mio for higuain / contract was terminated
20 mio for matuidi / contract was terminated
46 mio for costa / free loan
10 mio for de Sciglio / probably free loan
23 mio for pjaca / not able to sell
Khedira for free (but with heavy wages) / not able to sell

i think tici is doing something wrong. It‘s obvious.
Not a single deal is Paratici’s fault imo

Without knowing the parameters he had been given i think the squad has improved overall. Who knows what he may have had should covid never existed. We could have brought in a pogba type for example.

The dry loans concern me. 12 months time could see us in the same position trying to offload them again. But if he was told to do this to support additions then not much can be said.

Matuidi ('87) <> Mckennie ('98)
Higuain ('87) <> Morata ('92)
Costa ('90) <> Chiesa ('97)
Pjanić ('90) <> Arthur ('96)
Khedira ('87) <> Kulusevski ('00)
De Sciglio ('92) <> Frabotta ('99)
Rugani ('94) <> Emerson(?) ('94)

Good job by Tici in reducing the average age of the squad.

not only tici, most of these players were signed by marotta, and sales are much more difficult than pre-covid.

anyway, the outgoing part of this mercato is only some damage control. it surely looks terrible if you look at it without context, but i'd be absolutely pissed if we sold some players like dybala or demiral just to balance the books.
maybe you are right and I was wrong.

Much better job this mercato. Lowered the average age of the squad, got rid of some (but nowhere near all) of our deadwood, added depth all over the field. Just a shame that Khedira won’t take hint and leave and that we had to loan out so many players instead of selling them. Although that is to be expected given the COVID situation.

Massive mistakes again, some of them will be proven critical for both this year and our future.
Immense damage done to our club.
It is not normal for someone to keep his job after that. This proves that the mistakes are directly Agnelis decisions and those peeps are just front men...

Imagine when we repalce Buffon 43 with a keeper 19 yo.
