Its very hard to compare Beppe this year with Paratici. They are operating on different levels entirely in terms of budget and objectives.

What did Inter need this mercato? They wanna secure CL football and build towards a future squad that may be able to compete for Serie A and get past the CL group stage. They hired the best coach in the business for doing that + a mix of young promising players on the cheap and experienced semi-finished ones that they'll try to revive. They also needed to increase the probability that they can get some good money out of Icardi who appeared as a completely lost cause. They did that.

Juve on the other hand doesnt have to be as penny pinching because we are just much larger and our objectives are greater than theirs. Paratici should be more judged on his purchases rather than whether he can squeeze 10 mill out of our deadwood. We are not that poor anymore. On the purchasing front, he did very well and again got us a high profile signing second season in a row against everyones expectations. He is here to make us a big player on the transfer market and he is doing that.

I am not saying he couldnt have done better selling or that its 10/10 mercato, all I am saying is that he is raising our profile and making us a destination for the world's top players that we even thought Neymar was a possibility. Beppe's job is just so different, he is building from scratch. It is like comparing Conte's job to Sarri's.

GK, defense, midfield, attack all improved, de Ligt was signed. But somehow Paratici has already proven to be a Secco lol.

Tl;Dr it's much easier to improve Inter than Juve.

And yes, completely agree.

Not that Paratici did a poor job despite not being able to sell. You couldn't have done a poor job when you literally improved every single sector. AND signed de Ligt. Bizzarre.

Agree
Paratici is good to see how good a player but he still needs to learn to see it as a whole. And become a good GM
This year is his first year and it seems he doesn't have a clear plan or communicate with Sarri about what kind of team they want and who is included.

In beginning, he want to exclude Matuidi, Khedira, Mandzo, Higuain. And we invest in Can, Ramsey, Rabiot. Later for Sarri keep playing Khedira and Matuidi as first team. Selling Kean after we cant offload Higuain. Selling Cancelo for plusvalenza. I dont know if they have a clear plan or not. Matuidi is a good player but certainly shouldnt in first team if at first Paratici/Sarri thinks he is expendable.

At least with Marotta we know who we will replace and make the right but reasonable investment. We bought Khedira for Vidal, Pjanic for Pirlo, Tevez for Vucinic, etc.

If you see Inter Milan, at least Marotta have a very clear plan and direction. He said signing Conte is Inter's best transfer. He clear all the players who has a problem before in dressing room : Icardi, Perisic, Nainggolan. And buy what they needed : Godin for 3CB formation, Sensi for Pirlo's role, Lukaku as target man, Sanchez as SS which Conte like in Tevez mould, Biraghi as LWB which also homegrown, Barella also. These players already played this season.

This season will be very challenging for us
We becoming Inter and Inter more like Italinter???

"We brought in Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot in midfield to replace those who left"

wtf, not a single midfielder left. or does he refer to spina and cancelo? :shifty:

So if we rest Ronaldo, we can't play a 4-3-3 because we don't have any wingers. Because one has to play fullback because we don't have any fullbacks either.

But we have a half dozen holding mids.

Maybe play with 4321

Tek
Cuad - Bonucci - De Ligt - AS
Khedira - Pjanic - Matuidi
Ramsey - Rabiot
Dybala

We have Can and Bentancur as backup mid
CR7 and Hig can introduced later in 2nd half
