It's easy to spend cash and buy, it's also easy to sell out our promising players like Spina and Kean.
So far our mercato is 8/10, not perfect because our midfield section is not bolstered enough.
Not perfect because we don't have a reliable solution as LB. He ought to introduce a buy back clause for Spina, hopefully he will not fail to do the same with Kean, that would be a major mistake, at least a - 2 to our mercato.
If Sandro leaves next year, with 40-50mil we may get back Spina, but Kean can easily reach 100mil by the time CR7 retires in a couple of years.
Dybs is not that irreplaceable and could give us even more profits and salary cap relief, should we keep Higgy. But Icardi or Chiesa would be downgrades.
Cancelo is also irreplaceable, we just can't find anyone even remotely close enough to replace him.
So with a simple sale of Dybala, or swap/trade deal involving Pogbs or Isco, heck even cash for SMS, this transfer window could go up to 10/10, esp if we manage to offload Sami, Manzdu, Bonucci and/or Matuidi too and secure that buy back clause on Kean.
But there are many more traps that could totally destroy it, like selling Kean for good and get Icardi
Sell off Dybs for Chiesa
Sell off Cancelo for Hysaj
And keep the deadwood.
We still have more to lose and should be worried.
We should be worried because it's August and we have yet to sell any of the deadwood.
Paratici has sold Spina for Pellegrini, so any of the rumored downgrades that have been rumored are all possibilities that shouldn't surprise us after this epically stupid move. And the release of Benatia at the worst possible moment. He lost our trust after those moves, he has some excuses (balance accounts and Benatia upset with Max),
but he won't have any in a possible combo of Kean-Icardi deals
We must remain vigilant and wary, no time for praise just yet!
