Because Tutor only knows his rigid 3-4-2-1 system. That's why we have to waste time buying a mediocre wing back and probably some destroyer for the midfield. Miretti would be better off being a backup for McTominay at Napoli. It's unfortunate, but we have a really silly manager and incompetent leadership.
This is the problem with having no clear identity, direction or stability. We overhauled the team last season and bought full backs, small defenders competent carrying the ball out, wide midfielders for Motta, and now have moved to a completely different style of vertical direct football with wing backs.

We are fucked in the sense that we keep repeating year zero whilst consistently getting further away from the top teams in Serie A, and moving to a stratosphere away from the top teams in Europe.

The only thing that remains consistent with the club is plusvalenza and flogging our young players whilst replacing them with mediocre players on higher wages mortgaging our future with these elongated loans/spread out future payments.

This is so infuriating. And then we'll do the same next summer for Tudor's replacement.

We have so many shit players yet when we want to sell people bitch like we are selling WC players
Cause people know by now that we are going to sell them for peanuts, only to replace them with shittier players who are more expensive.

I see nothing wrong in keeping Miretti. What's the point in selling him for ≈ €15m.

There's nothing wrong in keeping Miretti, indeed, if our goal is fighting to get 4th spot. He's mediocre at best and quite meh option even for the bench, let alone starting position.

I do get your point that we keep getting shit players, but I'm not sure if that alone is enough to justify us keeping crap players.

:agree:

We have a terrible track record on upgrading players.

For 15m I'd much rather take the gamble on Miretti than sell. He's shown glimpses of very good talent but a poor final ball has let him down. He's 21, home grown, on low wages, no amortisation and positionally fits Tudor's system well.

He needs to develop and it might not click for him. But he has got talent and if he can improve the final ball he'd suddenly become an asset for us.
