I expect big things from him.

He has the trust of the coach and the club.

He doesn't have the trust of the fans, but fuck them fans, right?

Now this was a bit random seeing DeSciglie resurface by talking about Miretti but he makes a solid point on how difficult is to make the jump from primavera to first team and how it’s even tougher to secure a starting role and find consistency at that age, also alluding to his own case where a loan helped him grow and return with a different status in the squad later on.

He is correct tho. De Ceglie loan to Siena from our youth team is reason why he became a Senior team player coming back. Similar for Marchisio and Giovinco in Empoli. Or Fagioli in Cremonese recently. Coming back to parent club with full season on loan as starter gives you new status.

Tho with U23 next gen team now the hurdle between youth player to senior team is much easier. So in that Miretti and other youth players are better off. It's not go out loan were you likely to be dissappear as trade piece, or be ignored in youth teams if you stay etc.

Also the question is does someone like Miretti even need loan for playing time besides just generally needing confidence boost. Because Miretti played 50 Juve games before even turning 20. That's much more then any Juve youth product in past I think. Kean debuted at 16, but he was used sparingly and was loaned out too.

Are we really in position to loan anyone out? Our bench is empty as heck.
If we sign Koop we have 7-8 mids for 2-4 spots: Koop, Adzic, McKennie, Luiz, Fagioli, Locatelli, Thuram (+Arthur and Nicolussi still not sold yet). I think it's fine if we let Miretti out and see if he can actually realize his potential elsewhere. Wish we'd have a buyback clause though.

Genoa secures Fabio Meretti on loan with [high] option to buy. The only thing missing is the final green light by Juventus. [Matteo Moretto]
Was expecting it to be a only a dry loan, if an option to buy is inserted then buyback clause should also definitely be in place…

Miretti has indeed stagnated lately and been a disappointment here due to his decision making, but ultimately he is still only 21yo(only turned this month) and we don’t know how he will develop under a more progressive manager like Motta(or even Gilardino for that matter), potential to further grow is there so hopefully the club takes the right decision around him, no doubt a loan where he can find consistent playing time could sure help his case, just preferably not along with a undervalued option to buy yet.
