He should probably leave unless he'll take less wages and accpet being a backup.

His experience could be useful if we buy some younger defenders i suppose.. but his performances haven't been too good until the second half of the season.

It's like someone kicked him up the ass all of a sudden.

Hopefully it was Gigi.

With a significant wage cut, he would be fine as 3rd choice CB.

Then again, Legrottaglie will still be under contract and he'll be fine as 3rd choice CB.

If we are getting Kjaer, and also recalling Ariuado, then I would prefer to keep Canna. Its got to be more useful for the team and the youngsters to have a veteran who was, for a number of years, the finest centreback in the world. I have no idea how capable he is of passing on his expertise though...other than that, it is a wage issue.

Most importantly of all. Chiellini needs a new first choice partner at the back, and also a new left back. and also a new right back.

Cannavaro has really only been bad this season when the entire team was flopping and we were losing game after game. When the team has played well he has been pretty impressive for his age.

I would keep him on one more season instead of Lego and buy a top class CB to start next to Chiellini.

You really can't beat his experience either. I'd imagine him a bit of a locker room mentor to the youngsters.

Cloak and dagger, run and flee aside of course.

He clearly is here only for the cash's sake, his mind is on the WC and not Juve so I can't see him "mentoring" our youngsters or anything close to that. He just lacks the spirit, if he is to mentor them it will be a class on how to follow the cash wherever that goes.

Cannavaro's worst matches for us this year were when the team pushed forward and he was left as the last man. The fast forwards were destroying him on counters. They easily outran him.
The same was happening in Real where everyone pushed forward and he was left alone most of the time.

He was great, even brilliant, when the defense was more cohesive and when less space was left to the opponents. His intelligence as a defender could have been seen in such situations.
For example, if he played for Inter instead of Samuel or Lucio (against Barca) I think he was gonna play a perfect match. If he played for Barca against Inter at Meazza though, he was gonna be beaten a lot by Milito.
I think that he can still play very well in a team led by a good coach who can organize the defense.

If the choice is Canna or Legro, I'd rather keep the former.

What about the choice of keeping him or getting Ariaudo, Alen? Would you be willing to trade this old crappy fellow for the young somewhat proven CB coming out of out youth ranks, or you would just bet on the more "experienced" and slow Canna instead?

I can't answer this because I didn't watch Ariaudo. I don't want to prefer some player over another just because one is young and the other one old.
There are coaches in Italy who know and follow Ariaudo. If they think that the boy has good potential then yes, I will surely take that "risk" to replace Cannavaro with Ariaudo next year.
But if Ariaudo's potential is as big as a starter for Siena or bench player for Cagliari, then I'll keep Cannavaro.

Like I said, I don't know Ariaudo and I can't answer this.

some says that ariaudo is very good
other says that he is decent...
marchisio was not even decent in his first season on serie a and look at him now
