Instead of pulling the same old Italian joke which is getting quite lame lately to be frank,why don't you tell us something about Tasci and what makes you think he could be a good buy?

It's not a joke, it's the truth.

You tend to overrate this "proven Serie A so and so" a bit. From what I've seen, you're also using this argument for coaches as well. Zaccheroni and Ranieri are "proven" Serie A coaches, but how did that end up working? The same goes for the support of Canna around here. Folks said they wanted a "proven" Serie A defender and they got Cannavaro, so I ask again, how did that end up working out for ya? Not very good, on both accounts.

We need to get younger, talented players in here, not washed-up has-beens like Cannavaro. Tasci has been solid for quite a long time now, has over 80 appearances for his club already at the ripe age of 22, and already has 10 caps for Germany. Apart from that, I've thought he's looked quite solid in the tackle and in marking, generally being in the upper echelon of Bundesliga defenders.

Tasci is more experienced and IMO better than the likes of Ranocchia and Bocchetti, but those guys also have some talent.

If we were going to buy defenders from outside of Serie A I would rather they were experienced and proven guys who have played more than a handful of games at international level. There is big scope for a young defender from the Bundesliga to fail, it is a different footballing style. Juve have done pretty well with German players over history though. I suppose any transfer is a gamble in the end.

But again, Legro was supposedly a "Serie A proven" defender, and what happened with him? He was an utter flop and disaster for us when he arrived at Juve. So either way, yes, it is a risk.

That's why you can't just look at Serie A for players. We need to find solid young players who have ability irrespective of what league they play in. The Bundesliga is a great league anyway, similar to Serie A in some respects.

That's the risk factor, true. It's easier for the board to look at an Italian defender who has had a great season and decide he is more likely to not only be a success but be a success instantly. It doesn't matter who that is or where they come from, for a defender it is very important they fit in straight away. Look at what happened to Criscito and Legrottaglie, as you say. There is definitely scope for us to sign someone like Tasci, but we also need a fallback option if he doesn't click right away. I would even be apprehensive with a signing like Vidic, you just can't tell. The directors live and die by their choices, as we well know.

I see no reason to be against this, finally we would have somebody on the board who has actually played a football match before. I understand why having him resign his contract is drawing objections since his performances are dropping but why not a position on the board?

The whole traitor argument is stupid anyway since he handled his transfer to Real Madrid completely professionally and has never spoken ill of this club unlike Trezeguet and Camoranesi who publicly stated they wanted to leave Juve during the summer of Calciopoli and the following January but didn't get the opportunity
