Well it's true that the club had to bring in a certain amount of money to cover some of the losses, it could have been others like Camoranesi or Trezeguet, but I think the club made the choices. Cannavaro and Thuram were 33 and 34 and did end up declining quite rapidly afterwards (Thuram had to retire), so getting €12m for the pair was a good deal financially. It's just that the loss of such players was terrible.

You are right. The club might have made the choices, but to say that Cannavaro decided to go in order to help Juve financially is not true at all.

If fabio is a traitor then Thuram is too. We can never blame anyone for leaving when the team is relegated. We can only thank those who stay.

Cannavaro: 'Forza Napoli!'

Fabio Cannavaro admits he’s cheering on Napoli this evening, although he invites Alessandro Del Piero to join him in Dubai.

Like Ciro Ferrara, Cannavaro is torn between the two biggest clubs in his career at the San Paolo tonight.

“I remain very grateful to Juve for all they have done, but I am Neapolitan,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Besides, my brother Paolo is playing tonight, so I have to cheer on the Cannavaro family!”

The 2006 World Cup winner is currently in Dubai working as a director after he hung up his boots this summer.

With Del Piero confirming he wants to continue playing even after his contract with Juventus expires in June, Canna has a proposal.

“I don’t know what Ale’s intentions are and I’m not in charge of the transfer market, but I’d welcome someone like him without the slightest hesitation. He’s a great champion and also a friend.”

There are other reports that Del Piero has offers from the Premier League, as Tuttosport suggests Tottenham and West Ham are interested in giving the 37-year-old a new lease of life.

That article is such a load of crap! Read the title and you think that Canna is all against Juve and one eyed Napoli. Read the article and it ways that he's very grateful for everything Juve has done for him but as he is from naples and his brother is still playing at there he will be supporting Juve. Typical FI crap!
