I think sum1 in the thread somewhere said that buying a younger defender (say Agger or Kjaer) would hamper / restrict Ariaudo's growth.... I think that does make sense, since we'd be constantly loaning him out, and we dun wanna see him becoming another Legro, do we ???
I voted for Canna's return....
I love that guy, for what he DID for not only Juventus during his stint, but for my 1st love (Gli Azzurri), but seriously, this whole thing is another ploy by the Management to appease us for the short-term....
If opposing / blocking his transfer and ridiculing him helps us in overthrowing this
Management, then for me, this is a very minuscule price to pay for the freedom of Juve....

With the way our team has been most of this season, Iaquinta's extremely hard working, ultra aggressive, and lion hearted approach to every game, has been as useful, or more useful, in my mind, than Amauri, who is more reliant on decent service than Iaquinta, whose strength and determination allow him to force his way past and between people with greater ease and much fiercer momentum...Without doubt, Amauri is a better finished, but until we have a midfield which can create, I see the need for a hustling bustling heart on your sleeve warrior, more than a fairly strong, great in the air, decent on the floor, brazillian. He has a far weaker war cry, than Iaquinta...
I also think that the team as a whole was playing much better when Amauri was fit. We still had Momo, who makes a huge difference to the solidity of the defensive part of our team, not though, the attacking one. Still, with Momo culling all attempts to pass his area on the field, in front of the defenders, it gives our other midfielders the chance to create under less duress and frequently. Without him, we only have Marchisio who I trust to perform heroics in the Anchor Man role...and he is still learning his trade really. Not yet a finished product, and for me, more of an out and out central midfielder than a defensive minded killer like Momo.
With a better midfield, lets say Diego...Yes, I would pick Amauri every time over Iaquinta...With support arriving from Nedved and Marchionni...Best to have Iaquinta.

It's the complete opposite. Amauri has great technique and is able to create chances without little support. Send him a difficult long ball and he'll manage to control it and bring the rest of the team into play.
It's no coincidence that the whole team played better with Amauri (and Momo). Our lack of creativity wasn't as apparent.

i don't buy that at all, Amauri has very good technique with the ball at his feet plus he is a monster in the air,he may not have the pace of Iaquinta but he is by far a much more rounded player. you only have to look at the way Amauri played against Chelsea in the first leg to see how useful he is at causing menace in the opponents half and his ability at holding the ball up.
i am not doubting Iaquinta, in fact it is refreshing to see someone appreciate the hard work he puts in as this type of player is far too often overlooked, but he is certainly not as good as Amauri

I don't doubt the gulf in quality between the two players. And I understand why most of you disagree with me...But I am not saying Iaquinta is more talented, I am saying that at times this season, and with the wretched team we normally put out these days, with no Camo, dying Nedved, the likes of Moli and Grygera....we need Iaquinta to play. I like his heart and spirit, its as fierce as that of Nedved, and Chiellini, though he has been off the boil since his injury at the start of this year...
Either way, I am glad to have them both. As well as DP and Trez. I would rather the front line is left as it is, with those four battling it out for two positions, though Giovinco should be given more chances to play in DP's role...perhaps with Trezeguet for company. Little and Big...those two could be amazing together.

Amauri is the better target man. When Iaquinta scores, usually it is from a good cross or perfect pass, so he just needs to put it into the net. However, he is quite clumsy and not very good in passing which makes him poor in assists and unable to conjure up chances himself. Amauri can shield the ball much better, is superior in the air and is decent in dribbling, but he hasn't scored from the ground I think. Thus these two players work well with each other, but overall, Amauri is the better player.
The heart of Amauri can be seen from the game against Catania in which he battled 4 players alone. I say almost every signing after Sissoko bears the same trait.

Seems that Canna's return is pretty definite...Surely if the man is still picked regularly by Lippi as his captain, he still has enough in the tank to give us a stellar season, and to help out kids learn their trade????

Amauri rarely scores from the ground. Iaquinta is definitely the better finisher on the ground and slightly weaker than Amauri in headers.

Amauri is slightly the better player..He had an outstanding rate of goal scoring until christmas break then he started to flop. Iaquinta has not flopped at all yet.. everytime he has been given time he has proven himself to be a first team player.

I don't know.. Iaquinta is a good player but I would take Amauri every time over him. I didn't know too much about him when we bought him last year aside from seeing him in a few games and compilations on Youtube. But when I saw him do this he convinced me that he deserves a starting place in the squad.

Our current defenders,even chiellini are not playmakers and not good at passing,specially long passes.canna is not worse than legro or melberg in defending,and he has better playmaking skills.so technically its not a bad move,specially that is for free.
The only thing that matters is about the whole leaving juve thing,but lets look it this way,cannavaro have been in juve for 2 years,and for financial reasons we had to sell some of our players(we HAD TO),which player would u liked more to stay ? someone like buffon,trez,camo,nedved... which were in juve for years or canna ?
Not like rest of them,he always tried to comment on the calciopoli and stand by juve side while nobody forced him.who could just not talk about it like viera,ibra,mutu,emerson,zambrotta.he always insist that i had 2 beautiful years in juve which were best of his career and he won those titles in pitch.so after all,i respect those who stayed with juve more and they have special place in my heart,but not all of the ones who left are traitors.
And another thing,this move is like doing a favour to lippi,his capitan is not wanted by his club,he is going to left out of highest level of football,and thats not something a coach want.keeping(and improving) good relationship with lippi worth signing a free agent player !!
