It's a known fact that Italian defenders are better than Spanish defenders because they have Italian blood. German defenders are better than Spanish also. But Spanish defenders are better than Portuguese defenders because they are closer to Italy and consequently French defenders come in second place because they are closest to Italy among the whole lot. The worst defenders in Europe are the Swedish, the Norwegian and the Finnish.

Outside the continent it is a known fact that the best defenders come from Tunisia and Libya for obvious geographical reasons.
What's with England defenders or you didn't mentioned them on purpose because they are Italian's sworn??

England sucks (God I would like to visit London) :D

You must be kidding.
I surely ain't. I might not know the French league or La Liga defenders, but i watch serie A a lot and i know that Samuel is easily the best defender in serie A this year.
You could say that the competition isn't too strong, but it doesn't change the fact that he was this season's best.

Not sure how I feel about Canna coming back. I don't have a problem with how he left the club like a lot of people do, I'm just not sure if he's a good enough player anymore.

Whats this weird feeling....I cant believe this, after almost 2 years, for the first time, I STRONGLY and completely disagree with Fred on something

Samuel has his limitations, but all in all, he is A GREAT defender. Not Cannavaro at his best, Nesta or Thuram or such, but a top quality defender. I dont get how you cant see that, you even called him not good????

Maybe i'm biased, but i will never ever be convinced by a dirty defender, someone like Samuel bases his whole defensive play on sneaky fouls imo. Its no wonder he got found out in Spain.

The best defender in Serie A this year? He barely played this season. Also like you said, there isn't really much competition in the Serie A, there haven't been many defenders that have played too well this year. But i'd still say Chiellini has had a better season, granted he has been average lately, but you have take into account that he's played much more games than Samuel.

Puyol, Pepe, Chiellini, Carvalho, Terry, Ferdinand, Gallas and Vidic have all had better seasons than Samuel or are generally better defenders. Samuel is a decent defender, but thats about it if you ask me.

Yeah, he only played a little more than 1/3 of this season, but he was great whenever he played. Real difference maker in Inter's backline.

If we sign this used to be, it mean that we are not going to add another quality CB in our team.
Canna will add nothing to this team. At this age and form he is hardly good for Napoli. Since we already recalling Criscito, i think its a very bad move.
Criscito will not be given any chances to Molinaro's position and will also have minimal chances to partner Chiellini if Legro, Mellberg and then Canna will be available...
We dont need another cheap, washed up defender, we need to start investing in our D-line!! No more empty promises and quick fixes!!

When we're talking individuals, our defenders aren't that bad actually(the starters i mean). Sagna and Clichy(despite being poor this season) are good fullbacks, and Gallas on his day is a good defender, Toure has always been overrated that much is true.

I'd fancy the former 3 to start for a lot of good teams actually, in fact they'd definitely start for Juve.

Every single of your starters are better then ours, except Toure, he aint better then Chiellini, he is Legro level, except just faster and more versatile.

Your defenders would get in most teams defence except a select few. Ours is too easy because we have one of the weakest material out of the top teams.
