It should also sound the alarm for our transfer policy of adding more expensive forwards and only free/finished defenders...

We need to invest on our defense to balance our team!
Canna wont be enough...
 we are going down teh Real road of completely ignoring our blatant deficiencies at teh back by throwing forwards at the situation

CANNAVARO :lol2::lol2::lol2:

Pique outplayed Cannavaro, I can't believe it
Pique had the game of his career there

Btw, if that's the ORGANIZATION some of you are talking about.... thanks but I'd rather stick with Legro-Chiellini. I'm sure Pique wouldn't out-run/dribble past Chiellini/Legro two times like he did with Cannavaro tonight.
going 3 at the back was suicide anyway but the problem was not in defense but the fact that the midfield were way to far off the barca midfield, allowing them to pick passes at will. that is where teh game was lost IMHO

As bad as he was i doubt any defender in the world would have made difference tonight.
Ramos was raped by Henry, Metzelder will have nightmares about Messi, Heinze was owned even by Bojan Krkic, Gago let everyone pass him by, even Diarra was owned all match long. Cannavaro was just as bad. Not better nor worse than the other defenders.
:agree: but with better organisation in the middle of the park would have helped the back 4 out, they were letting Iniesta,Xavi, etc just play balls behind teh backline at will

Sorry, but that's a very poor excuse Alen.

Chelsea played Barcelona missing their main defender playing away to Barcelona and didn't concede a goal.

I can give many more excuses. Most of us also doubted Chelsea defenders to stop the Barcelona's trio before the match but they managed.
chelsea played 2 solid banks of 4, with no space behind the midfield for Iniesta or Messi to drift into. it was as perfect tactically as you could wish for, Real on the other hand allowed the midfield all the space to play balls in behind all night and that was their downfall

Seriously not true whatsoever. Canavarro made the foul for the first goal, was out of position on two other goals, and missed a lot of tackles/interventions he once could make.
ALL the backline were culpable, Ramos tried an acrobatic overhead clearance and completely missed it allowing Henry through on goal unchallenged. bad all round

after last nights classico nobody should say a madrid player played better than him. they all sucked. barca were superior, you cant pinpoint cana as the weak link last night, like boz said the midfield was awwwwffffuuuuuullll, gago was passing the ball to barca players and diara was just shit. and to go back to topic i am for getting cana because he can still play in serie a where it is slower than the liga. but im not for signing him for more than 1 season.

see for me Chelsea showed how to stop Barca, 2 solid banks of 4,doubling up on their attackers and ensuring there is no space between the backline and midfield. Real went for a win and payed brutally for it, there was far too much space all over teh park, the midfield were bypassed regularly, the defense was therefore exposed and when they went to a back 3 it was only a matter of time before they were made to look even more foolish. they played like a donkey chasing a dangling carrot and were made to look like a bunch of asses

:agree: :agree: :agree:

But even if we take a look only at Real defenders, ignoring the role of the midfielders and the wrong tactics set by Juande Ramos, you'll see that Sergio Ramos was by far the weakest link in the defense yesterday.
Ramos was 100% guilty for the most important goals, the first and the fourth (at 1:0 and 2:3). For the first goal he completely fucked up the overhead clearance and then for the 4th goal he stopped running a second too late, trying to make an offside trap, which allowed Henry to come 1 on 1 with Casillas. He was skinned one more time by Henry in the second half. It was hillarious how Henry left Ramos 5 metres behind him with a lob over Ramos' head.

agreed on all points,Ramos is a brilliant guy to ahve in your team going forward but as always, he is suspect at defending, simply due to his lack of positional awareness

2.2 (euros?) ain't a bit too much?
It is a lot, although for a club like Juve it isn't too much.
Zebina, Poulsen, Tiago, Zanetti earn even more than that, while Salihamidzic earns almost as much as that.

Cannavaro is indeed taking a massive pay-cut ( i think almost double less from what he gets in Madrid), but i still think that our guys could have negotiated a much better deal (around 1.5m).

Let's all welcome this talented youngster, Fabio Cannelloni, to our team. We are truly ushering in a new era gentleman. I expect us to sign Claudio Mozarealla, and Marco Macaroni anytime soon now.

Oh wait, we already have Marco Macaroni on our squad. :sigh:

That's what i thought too. Bayern prob offered him more, but we (or Serie A) were Canna's priority. Not many teams here can allow to pay defender here such wages. Do you know how much Chiellini, Legro and Mellberg earns? :p

Since he has already have signed with us.
I just have to hope him all the best!!
I really hope that he will find the motivation he needs to prove that he really respects this club and still has some quality left inside him to allow that to happen!

And above all, i sure hope that this is not the only defensive enhancement we are getting in this season. With the return of Criscito and Canna, we should now focus on our RB issue!! Hopefully this time, with a proper investment for a permanent fix!!!

If no other defensive replacement arrives and our board uses his name to evade that need for 3rd consecutive year, then this transfer will be turned into a massive disaster!!!
