6m for him is a bargain, would be an excellent signing (he has inconsistency and discpline issues, but he is very talented), and they will sell for sure, because they bought Campagnaro, who plays in his position, and Donadoni not wanting to bet on him, prolly is the reason why Marino said he would listen to our offers.

Aslong as we dont give away DC in any of this, it will be a bargain.
Yeah.
Although i don't know if i can agree with the inconsistency part. Sure, like all the others from Napoli, including Hamsik, Gargano and Lavezzi, he wasn't brilliant in the second part of the season, but it was more of a team inconsistency than inconsistency of individuals.

The discipline issue could be a problem though. The guy is indeed a butcher, Montero style, which is kinda surprising because technically he's very sound and intelligent for a CB (great at man marking). Usually the less talented players like Materazzi are the butcher types.

Very strange player but i can safely say that 6m eur will be a daylight robbery.

I dont think his discipline is too much of a problem. The reason he gets so many cards is he does alot of last ditch slide tackles and he normally does them well but when he does not he gets cards and sometimes the red.

At Juve he the defence will be caught out less and wont require him to make such tackles as regularly.

I think its overplayed too, his discipline, but defensively wise, he has very dynamic skills, but its attitude or approach, he can be bit too rash (go into challenges instead of wait it out and fall back). But in overall, he will more then work out IMO.

What I like most is that Ciro really likes him and is the one asking for him, and that signing him makes the Mellberg sale makes perfect sense. But also, I have little doubt that he might be seen as the RB....Which I really hope to fuck not it really happens.

Dont think Napoli would give him away that easy and certainly not without some youth snatching in return. Ive not seen santacroce much in action but whats his pace like? As thats what we will be surely lacking come the new season.

Ariaudo will be our 4th choice CB as of now but if we get Santacroce I think Ariaudo should go on loan cuz he will get little to no playing time.

Ciro would turn Santacroce into a top CB I think because he sees his potential and will teach him the poise he needs to become one of the best.

I think that too.
BUt would be a lot better if Ciro turns Ariaundo into a great CB :D instead of buying another player :D

Ferrara wants Santacroce Saturday 27 June, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus Coach Ciro Ferrara would like Napoli centre-back Fabiano Santacroce at the heart of his defence, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Bianconeri have already signed Fabio Cannavaro this summer, but the 35-year-old had a poor Confederations Cup and some believe he only has one more season left in his tank.

Earlier this week, Juventus sold Olof Mellberg to Olympiacos, leaving them short of numbers at centre-back ahead of a gruelling season.

Ferrara is a keen admirer of Santacroce, who has a gift for tactics and is renowned for playing in a number of positions across the backline.

Before Ferrara got the Juventus job, he said: “My heir at Napoli is Santacroce,” showing just how high he holds him in regard.

The 22-year-old, who was born in Brazil but grew up in Italy, has great margins of improvement and can rejuvenate the Juventus defence.

However, he has a contract with Napoli until 2012.

The Partenopei are said to be asking for £5m, but could let him go a little cheaper now they have signed Juan Zuniga from Siena.

Juventus already had the chance to sign Santacroce last year, but the Bianconeri passed up the opportunity to do so.

The error apparently cost a Juventus scout his job.

Oh good job! And the main transfer chief we have "passed up the opportunity" to sign Hamšík from Brescia and he still has his job right? Bravo! *Standing Ovation*

Haha, no but seriosly we should make a move if he cost near £5m, just like BW whisky-Juve said. It seems that Ferrara admires him though and I hope Secco can make a deal. It shouldn´t be too hard because Napoli have declared that Santacroce is for sale and he´s not in their plans for next season.

I know I was joking. Who knows now that they probably signed Zúñiga, maybe they can have some sort of an agreement. But where do they say he's not in their plans in the article?

All this feels like bullshit to me. A CB like Santacroce being sold for €5-6m? It's too good to be true. Also I doubt he's not in their transfer plans since every single club needs atleast 2 CBs, its not like he's a midfielder or something. He also had a good season, so all the transfer rumours circulating around him seems very suspicious.
