External Hard Drive problem (5 Viewers)

I am trying to connect a hard drive to my system, and it fails- doesn't see it.

Device Manager does have it listed, but notes that

"This device cannot start (Code 10). Click troubleshoot."

Troubleshoot only advises to restart the mashine and other useless stuff.

No driver installations or anything are needed.

Now, the hard drive works at my roommate's computer. We both have 1.1 USB and the hard is compatible with it.

Vendor's Tech Support guys could not saying anything useful.


Any thoughts?

I really don't wanna mail it back for a refund and hunt for a new one

what os are you using? I think the mass storage driver is only available on Windows XP.
so in other word, you'll need a driver for windows 98

All my porn is securily stored on some 100+ CDs.

I never got a chance to record anything on this drive. And I did return it btw

Assuming Elnur has class and that his flicks are encoded in divx (700mb/1.5hours) then:

70000mb/700 * 1.5 = at least 150 hours of footage...
