My very close friend cried when she heard the news. Her parents were in London (still are), and everytime they're in London apparently they will stay somewhere really near where the bombings occured. Only this time there was no accommodation so they stayed somewhere else.

Well, then IMO it wouldn't be real/proper terrorism as the primary goal for terrorist _attacks_ (not meaning the motives behind terrorists) is to upbring terror among the enemy. Which type of strike for terrorist is better - attack a lonely battleship or destroy a bus in center of a big city..

I do not condone such acts - suicide bombings etc. Especially as a Muslim everytime it happens it will mar Islam's image when the root word of Islam in the first place means "peace".

Having said that - after reading Andy's post that these people are spreading false ideology (which they are) - and bearing in mind these attacks are absolutely wrong - sometimes people always look at these attacks and turn their fingers on these fanatics yet why is it that people always forget that the western world weren't exactly kind either. It's not a one sided war.

Could well be because the #33 didn't include the fatalities from the double decker bus yet and rumours had it that was packed because the subway system was already out of order at that time.

What I mean is that the terrorists would have sought to make the bombs go off within a small time window such as what happened yesterday in London and back in Madrid. If there's bombs left (which I doubt) then they obviously don't work.

Well I tend to distrust any form of cultism. And I equally loathe the Islamo-fascists and the Christo-fascists. But my point was that if the Islamo-fascists had the technology, I'm pretty sure they'd only attack military targets, with the odd "collateral damage". That may be so Martin, but why is it that way? Terrorism has much deeper roots than just greed and fight for power, espcially in Palestine. How would you feel if your children got murdered by Israeli soldiers on a day to day basis, if you had to go through countless checks and soldier harassement just to get to your job which you need to provide for your family, if you had no rights in your country, and were actually a prisoner and a foreigner on your own land. All I'm trying to say is that it's easy to dismiss these people as animals, taking the moral highground saying that we are better than them and that we could never do such things, but that's simply not true. There's a potential terrorist, murderer, criminal in every one of us, and there is nothing any man wouldnt do under certain circumstances, whether it be stealing, murdering or carrying out terrorist attacks.

Couldnt agree more, the palestine Isreali conflict is ridiculous...I see the Isreali occupation the same way, and to think that nobody is fighting for Palestine's rights.
As you can clearly see the US are very much Isreali biased and much of the western world have been somewhat biased in the past. And when justice isnt done, when you dont have anyone to go to (police, judge) then how else can you settle problems? They resort to violence and become killers. its definately wrong but dont think that Killing people are their first options.

Before hand I would like to express my deepest sympathies for the victims of the terrible bombings, I forgot to say it earlier but it must have been terrible, especially to live in the city and feel vulnerable and perhaps frightend.

The whole situation is even worse because I feel that especially the US, have always shown like they know whats best for other country, like they know better than anyone else, thus often called arogant.

I think not even the US citizens themselves know exactly whats going on and the affects to people in other parts of the world except for the images and reports you get from cnn. So for all the US' citizens thinks, they are doing a great aid to the world, but its not always viewed that way in other parts of the world. The US has many enemys, those who have no power to protest thus resort to violence.

Honestly it will be hard for the world to have a good understanding of one another when there is only one superpower, who thinks they know it all. The only solution IMO is to have another super power, may be China in the near future. Who can balance the US' grip over the world.

This is my view of power in the world, its not my justification of the bombings. As like mentioned before, two wrongs dont make a right, especially when casulties are not directly related to these issues.
