on a sidenote, it turned out that i didn't know about the exact age of consent in my country lol. i thought that 15 in iceland (mentioned in the article) was low, lower 16 in hungary, so i checked the european limits. and it turned out that 7 european countries had an age of consent set at 14, and that list includes hungary too lol

We had one of the biggest protests recently. Government and their medias were hilarious since they said there were 107k people on the street while in fact it was around one million. I've never seen such river of people. It took me 4.5 hours to walk across a bridge of 500m. It was literally insane. During the event there was a 15 minute of silence (since 15 people died when that big thing fell onto their heads... and it's 16 since 2 days ago because one more kid died in the hospital). FYI the protests were friendly, there were no things destroyed etc. Eventhough our government denied its usage, during the 12nd minute of silence they used a sound cannon of some sort on the people. Luckily I moved to a different position 15-20mins before that happened. You have some videos on the Internet, it's really crazy how it affected a big crowd. Afterwards the pace slowed down so we'll see what happens. The consciousness of people changed, though. However, I'm not certain the momentum will be used in the right way.

Yes, it aren’t traditional farms where you grow crops in the sun. It’s a brilliant piece of technology; glass houses where they control everything into detail. On some night skies above them turn purple or even pink due to photosynthesis they create within the plants.

What I personally like about it is that it was a conscious and political decision after WWII to heavily invest in food production and efficiency after the ‘hunger winter’, so it isn’t a succes formula of a farmer but years of innovation, and with succes.

So that's why I started to see Dutch tomatoes in our supermarkets.
I was like wth, since when are the Netherlands tomatoes exporters.
We used to have imports only from Turkey and Spain , so seeing something from the Nederlands was somewhat exotic.

GB News is so awful that one of its founders Andrew Neil - a very right wing journalist but one with a good reputation - left it right after it's founding because he didn't realise everybody else wanted to replicate the Fox News-style trash instead of build a serious news company.

This story is a non-starter. Red meat for right wing knuckledraggers. Based on the sentencing numbers there is already a two-tier system in place. The idea is that a pre-sentencing report should be available [if requested] by a judge for more background information on the person in question in an attempt to remove bias which clearly -based on the numbers, again.

"White Christians are being oppressed!!!" is the cry and it's honestly laughable.

I think the actual aim is to bring down the number of people in prison because the country is broke. Doing this by taking steps to address the bias against minorities and those with neurodivergencies is pretty funny imo. Tacit acknowledgement of how rotten the judicial system is and has been - but the far right grifters use the opportunity to wring their hands and play the downtrodden.

It's a channel you watch if you are either 65 years old or over, or you're very right leaning.

I don't actually know anything about the topic. I think our sentencing laws are very lenient for certain crimes, that's about all I can say.
