But it's not supposed to be funny. It's a term used for what it is.

Claiming fanboy is getting old is akin to saying your name is getting old, or the Sun is getting old.

I'm surprised Andy didn't say anything about Bosnia losing 5-2 at home to Spain.

Disappointing stuff Andy i expected you to rub it in to the people who said that Bosnia was better or equal to the US as a football team, especially after your team beat Spain on a neutral ground :D

Edit: Not to forget a second string Spanish side.

I believe they are underrated by a lot of people. They are not easy on the eye, but they are a hard working and well organised team that are not easy to beat.

Certainly, the attempts by some Europeans here on the forum to compare teams like Bosnia and Belgium to them seem far fetched.

I don't have anything against Bosnia, really. Some of their fans just hate the US, but that's no surprise.

I'm far, very far, from being an expert on the US football team, but they strike me as a team who is solid and hard working enough to do well against a favorite that has the possession, but not as good against teams of their level.

At the world cup i expect them to suffer much more when they'll play "Ghana" or "Serbia" than when they'll play against the group's favorite.

Of course, much depends on the type of football their opponents will play. Every single team has a dark horse which doesn't suit them at all. The US team isn't a strong favorite that can adjust to different styles and steal a good result even when playing very bad, so lots will depend on the style of the teams they'll get in their group.
The USA are a team that can top the group and yet, they're a team that can easily end 4th in the WC group.

It really depends on the pace at which the opponent plays. Against slow sides that have a lot of possession, we stand a chance. For instance, after the draw for 2006 I said right away we would have the best chance against the Azzurri because they play slowly, while the others would give us problems. We are starting to adjust better to all sorts of styles, but of course, teams that can attack with power, pace and finesse we don't stand a chance against. DM and CB's too weak.

I'm guessing you want Italy as holders in your WC group?
And who's the least wanted group holder? England?

Oh, and the update (short version, not like i'm doing it usually :D )

Netherlands, Spain, England, Serbia, Slovakia, Denmark, Italy, Germany and Switzerland are the 9 teams that qualified from Europe.

The last 4 places from Europe will be decided after the play-offs where Russia, France, Greece and Portugal are holders and they'll meet one of Bosnia, Slovenia, Ireland and Ukraine.
