They started qualifiers months ago .. all the small fishes got knocked out .. Macao, Bangladesh .. the rest of the lower seeds ..

they have a procedure for that :) Today's draw was only for stage 3
That's stupid if you ask me. Why do they start playing the qualifying matches before the others? Europe has big number of teams too, and they start on time, but the people who are leading the Asian federation are lame people.

It will be Malta who qualify from Group 1 don't be so stupid :D

Why do we always end up with the hardest group, without getting the players i want to see.

I'm already preparing my Zlatan Zingaro chants for the match :D

They are lame alright .. but Europe have Euro '08 they can't start their matches earlier ..

South America and Oceania already started .. even the first stages of Africa has also started .. the only difference is that in Asia the number of participants in the last stages are much much less than those in other Continents .. :) ..

It's all about the qualification format :) ..

The question is: What is the trophy doing in South Africa? and why South Africa are drawn with the teams if they have a bye seat ?

i have tha nswer to the bolded question omair. they r seeded bec they will play for the african nations seats whilst angola will play for te world cup seat. thats what i understood from an article at goal .com.:

Africa World Cup Qualifying Groups

Stage 2 of the CAF (Africa) World Cup Qualifying campaign was drawn today at a gala ceremony in Durban...

Stage 2 of the CAF (Africa) World Cup Qualifying campaign was drawn today at a gala ceremony in Durban.

With the pre-preliminary round already complete, hopefuls from across the continent will join top seeds such as Nigeria, Ghana and Cameroon for the second of three Stages.

There are twelve groups of four taking part, and the twelve group winners shall advance to Stage 3 along with the eight best-runners up.

From there, the 20 remaining teams will be split into five groups of four for a qualification battle that also serves to determine who will play at the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola.

The four group winners in Stage 3 advance ot the World Cup, and they're joined by second and third place from each group at the Cup of Nations.

This means that South Africa will actually take part in the WC qualifying campaign despite being hosts of the World Cup, and Angola will do likewise in spite of being in the Cup of Nations.

Angola will compete only for a World Cup place while South Africa will obviously play only towards a spot in the Cup of Nations.

OK draw for Scotland.

Holland are beatable, I would have prefered an easier side than Norway though.
This group will be decided by Macedonia and maybe Iceland. Whoever'll lose points against these two, will probably be knocked-out.
Especially the Macedonians are tough nut to brake. Lots of teams missed out on EURO or WC because of them in the past.

The Dutch are favorites, i believe they'll win the group. Scotland has a small advantage over Norway but i expect them to share the same number of points in their h2h matches. The second place will be decided in SCO and NOR clashes against Macedonia, imo. Whoever'll do better against them will be the 2nd place winner.

I also expect Switzerland to win their group. Greece, Israel and Switzerland have similar quality but Switzerland's my choice to win the group.

I'd agree with that assessment. Head to heads between Scotland and Norway will be crucial.

I would say Scotland stand a better chance than Norway of getting points from Holland.

Hard group for Belgium....

- Spain are a class above.
- Turkey are stronger, certainly as they basically will play both legs home... But they're not unbeatable.
- Bosnia. Again?? They're a hard to beat, very passionate team, especially in Bosnia. That away tie might be crucial.
- Armenia and Estonia: no points should be dropped there, let's hope the away ties will not be in the middle of the winter...

Very hard. Impossible in our current position, but if we can get a good coach and have more luck with injuries, we have a chance of making it to the test matches. I'm not expecting us to do so, though.

I hate our current coach, I hope he gets fired soon.
