Given that I have been drinking for four days on the trot I might qualify as both drunk and drunken, so You might want to take this evaluation with a grain of salt:

Pepe - 5 overall but nearing both a 3 and a 7 on occasion
Marchisio - 6

So even though Shamrock had a couple of decent chances, you feel the defence was 6- 6.5????? Excep De Ceglie...was he an obvious weak link???? Add in Krasic, and a decent left back and this season will be a reward for our suffering of last season...I hope!

Interesting, but I think we learnt last season that there is no way this team can succeed without playing a relatively rigid 4-4-2 (or 4-4-1-1, with Diego). Momo would be even more confused than he is already if playing the Marchisio part, and that would be a liability,and Marc. isn't a natural DM! We need a holding CM / DM and Marchisio further up if we want to secure the defense - and that we want - to refrain the team from going haywire like last season when under pressure ...

well, the trouble is that when we get these panic-blackouts it's rarely by fault of the defenders but often due to midfield blunders (I'm looking at You, Momo). that's the reason for the grades. and I am well aware of the preliminary stage that we're in, thus the relatively high marks for an otherwise walk-over game.
