Quite a few Russians came to Australia after the October revolution at the end of WWI to my knowledge. When my Nonno migrated to WA in the 50's, we were given a crown grant of land in the Wheatbelt/Great Southern, a part of the concession that was given to us was land that was sold back to the govt by two cossack families after they relinquished and moved back to Perth. A tiny example, but a valid one none the less, the two families came to WA as a part of a greater clan of a dozen or so families that were Don-Cossacks and fled into Georgia/Armenia at the end of the Revolution, before those countries were in-turn invaded and divided between Soviet Russia and the Turkish Republic, after which they sought refuge in Australia, along with a considerable number of 'white' Russians that fled to Australia, USA & Western Europe.
