EPL clubs don't get results in CL and EL because they don't care for it. Matches against Bournemouth and Sunderland are more intense and important than against Bayern and Barca.

I remember when we used to say the same about Serie A clubs in Europe.

It's bullshit. EPL clubs are just not that good anymore. The level of quality has declined big-time from around 2011 onwards.

EPL clubs have been grossly overpaying for 2nd rate mercenaries for years. When they go up against well organized and tactical clubs in CL and EL they get completely outplayed. And then they use the "our league takes so much out of us for Europe" and "we get no winter break" excuses.

To be fair with the crazy amounts of money the PL pays it wouldnt surpise me if teams prioritized it over Europe especially the Europa League

EPL has 44 fixtures unlike Serie A and Primera, because they play extra games during winter while the others rest. Its a valid excuse

Exactly. France and Spain have just as many games as England. It's a little less in Italy because the top teams get a free ride in the Coppa Italia, but still not enough to make a huge difference.

I can't blame them for not giving a sh*t for EL. Italian clubs didn't care for it when Serie A was the best league in the world. In CL though English clubs just haven't been good enough with exception of Chelsea's extremely lucky run in 2012. Since 2010 when Real, Barca, and Bayern started attracting best players in the world EPL clubs barely get out of round of 16 in CL.
