Or the "Second tier distribution of teams as apportioned by Mathematical coefficients Cup". Has a nice ring to it.
ManU is like the bully on the back of the short bus. They didn't play a single team with even 5% of their transfer budget.

ManUnited --- 185 mil spent / 47.5 mil sold / net spend of 137.5 mil

And now for their opponents:
St Etienne --- 7 mil spent / 2.25 mil sold / net spend of 4.75 mil
FC Rostov --- 3.7 mil spent / 6.5 mil sold / net spend -2.8 mil
Anderlecht --- 28.8 mil spent / 29.9 mil sold / net spend -1.1 mil
Celta Vigo --- 8.2 mil spent / 19.8 mil sold / net spend -11.6 mil
Ajax --- 35 mil spent / 80 mil sold / net spend of -45 mil

Very tough opposition. :lol2:

That is an incredibly easy route to the final, even for the Europa League.

yes, in the 80s and 90s you had teams like Red Star Belgrade and Steaua (twice) reaching the CL final and even winning it, Gotteborg, Dundee, Videoton in UEFA Cup finals etc, not to mention semifinals and quarterfinals. nowadays if youre not a top club from the top 5 leagues, your best bet is passing the group in CL occasionally, or passing 2 rounds in the EL if you get an easy path
Steaua, Red Star, Club Brugge, Anderlecht , Feyenoord , PSV , Ajax (strong ajax like in 70s and 90s not what we see now) Panathinaikos , USSR teams and GDR teams who were very tough teams, you had a serious job to do to win v them , for example Carl Zeiss Jena (absolutely no name today ) beat a good side of Roma (sure not the best example to give) 4-0 in 1980 when they had a good team that was challenging mighty juve of trapatoni for scudetto , magdeburg even managed to win cup winners cup in 1974 after a final with milan beating them 2-0, we lost couple of times against those rdg teams also, most notable ch league in 1974 against dynamo dresden , also west germany championship was better than now in 70s ,80s and 90s , there were teams like Hamburg, Gladbach(beat 5-1 real madrid) , Koln (beat 4-0 barcelona on their stadium ) or Lautern who beat 5-0 real also , we had some apparently weird results also we lost to widzew lodz , otelul galati for example . All of these things are utopia in this football after 00s.

The weakest EL in years... No matter who wins Juve or Real.. expect a mauling on Man Utd...
The fact that manure struggled in the EL tells you how far behind they are to the elites
