Opinions here, did Scamacca play well enough to start again or someone else gets a shot?

He just holds up the ball and pass to the next guy. He had zero threat all game. Even Di Marco was more dangerous then him.


They could try Retegui maybe who is more of a poacher who plays off ball direct with his positioning and looking to shoot/head. But he doesn't have the hold up play Scamacca has.

Italy fell off when he was subbed for a fullback. But I would say for most of game Barella was most consistently good player, considering all his CM teammates were trash, he carried them.

While Chiesa was most threatening with the ball, prolly why Uefa gave it to him.


But for this game I would said

3. Calafiori.
4. Donnarumma for save at the end

I mostly agree but on the other side, it would be more open too which I think would benefit Italy. It could've been down to the gameplay, but when Albania really sat back and were organized, it was very tough to break them down.

I'm not really sure if italy can withstand the pressure that spain and even Croatia applies if the game is open. Bit today was a good test for them. I think it's actually not bad to face spain before Croatia. I think there's a surprise in this group too.

Would be quite the fit to not advance from the group stage, especially given that a few of the best 3rd placed teams are also qualifying to the next round, and usually even 3points is enough to be in contention.

But all in all i agree that they will surely manage at least a draw with Croatia though.

Italy's biggest strength is Spalletti. We had excellent movement on and off the ball. I fucking hate Inter Merda, but please, Barella was clearly MOTM.

If we go by the most recent rumors it seems that including counterparts is going to be very complicated due to Bologna’s sell-on fee to Basel and the difference in evaluations, however another way to do it is to maybe focus on making a few more direct sales ourselves to raise the necessary funds to pay up outright.

We don't have to include counterparts. We can just sell a player or players to them in a separate deal at a discounted price (players they potentially might need or be interested in, including a recompra in the process) and get a good deal on Calafiori in return.

That’s probably what we’ve been trying since the very beginning and it sort of ended up with Bologna coming out saying he is not for sale, actually as a way of raising the price and asking for more cash, that ofc because of having to pay Basel too and them supposedly not being ok with being snubbed via separate swap deals of a potentially highly profitable 40% sell-on fee, perhaps a lot will depend also on how good the relations are between their clubs.

Lots of speculation atm anyway, we’ll see how it goes eventually, i personally hope they find some middle ground to push the deal over the line one way or another.
