Someone on YouTube said this about the incident yesterday: "paramedics are only allowed to enter the field when the referee calls for them. Even if they want to go they can’t because those are the rules of the UEFA. And why they did not run to the patient is pretty simple they have their working boots on and are first of all not allowed to run (also a rule by the UEFA) and they should not run but walk fast. Because if they run there is the chance that they’ll fall and also their adrenaline gets higher and that could lead to them not doing their best job when arriving at the patient. The playing field is pretty slippery if you don’t wear football boots".

Someone explain to me these two statements from two different articles and thoughts on what Spalletti should do. .....

Spalletti said his players lacked freshness, and wondered whether they needed more rest after Spain’s relentless attacks left them chasing shadows for most of the 90 minutes.

Italy have started the exact same eleven in both of their matches, and though Luciano Spalletti may be considering changes, the drop-off in quality on his bench may force him to stick with a similar line-up.

So Italia lacks freshness and only 3 days rest this time but the drop off in quality might make him start the same 11? I haven't yet seen the quality lol and okay Gatti a drop in quality lol but the CB defense is fine. I'm going with the first statements with more than one starting 11 change needed if Spalletti beiges what he said.

Know I will be way off but first off no Cristante! Also no Jorghino though I read nobody can play his position? No manager would field a team like that. Injury. Can anybody play his position any worse so far? Croatia an old team so guess will be looking to beat them 1-0 with us being a lower quality than usual Italia squad and Croatia just a quality team that's too old.

NEW BLOOD looking ahead to 2026. Hopefully they make it this time. :sergio:

that's why that argie ref was a terrible choice. not only the general direction of the match was off, he listened to the var instead of letting the paramedics enter the pitch. szoboszlai had to physically drag the germans on the pitch

the paramedics themselves were not cool either. they were walking at a very slow speed, zero urgency

just an other failure from uefa

I thought their midfield would keep things together and that they would offer more in both ends due to that midfield. I was wrong

Brozovic is playing in arab league, Modric is 39 yo, while Kovacic moves like 39 yo. In attack Kramaric sucks, Pasalic is mediocre. I dont know why anyone would expect more than this.

Didn't know UEFA uses non European refs. Is this the first EURO with some non European refs participating?

uefa 2020 (2021) was the 1st tournament to feature a non uefa ref, as part of a so called ref exchange program between uefa and conmebol. and uefa also sent a spanish ref to the copa américa. it's all right, but the preparation and the communication could have been much better. until there's an unconscious player lying on the pitch, i don't think anything else should be prioritized by the ref
