Spain the only remaining hope now, but it’s going to be really tough even for them to finish off this english side that seems to have a sense of luck and pragmatism at their core.

They were much better then Holland today, especially 2nd half.

The Dutch were a joke. Too much pointless passing, players waiting and making runs in the box and just clueless to get some balls in all game. No one but Simons trying to unlock the defence.
The Dutch simply lack quality. They should be congratulated for making it as far as they did.

England are unlikeable and Southgate hasn't been able to make it a fluid team, but there are so many talented players on that squad. Guys like Phoden and Palmer of course, but also the less obvious ones like Eze or Watkins.

That being said a proper 6-0 trashing by Spain would be well deserved.

I think my post at the time was about the nothing freekick call that England then scored from.

The entire match just was shambolic from the ref, poor calls, non calls (feel like Gakpo was basically mugged every time he touched the ball but got basically zero calls), stopping attacks for both teams with strange fouls, calling soft shit. Don't even get me started on the handball. Very soft penalty imo

Story of this Euros and the Copa imo. The state of reffing in professional football is just beyond dismal. And I don't envy the position these refs are in. They're stuck having to call basically an impossible game and yet dives and bullshit seem to get no calls 95% of the time.

England got such easy draws again, was the same in 2021.

Had they been in the other group, no way they would've reached the final. They were on the brink of being KO'd against Slovakia ffs.

They were seconds... literally seconds away from going out to slovakia if Calzona wasn't such a useless fuck
I wish they were only lucky once but this is just ridiculous. Riches team most likely overall? What they showed on the pitch ever since Euros started is beyond pathetic. Disaster... I'm so disappointed they made it this far. And yeah, truth be told, Holland was also quite shit. It's a pity Germans went out that soon. But England is just :sergio:

England struggle to beat another lacklustre team, don't be fooled. A very low scoring team that like to concede scrape another win. Spain have knocked out the hosts and the world cup runner up. England have not faced a quality pressing team or even fast wingers. It'll be an education on Sunday.

my only worry about Spain is that they lack real quality off the bench, and as shown vs France they have their down moments which I fear england will capitalise
