Serious question:
Why is it the English are so deluded in terms of their national team? Be it their press or fans. What makes them believe every year is their year? Just wondering where this mentality comes from.
Maybe it's no different in France, Germany, Spain or Italy etc. I don't read their news as I don't speak any of the languages besides some German. But looking from the outside, the English just seems so entitled to believe it's always their turn.

I think this all started from 96, the whole coming home song, the culture, the hype, has stayed, different generation but it's been passed. Few years later they were also starting to slowly build and become relevant at club level too.
What's funny is I stumbled across a BBC article comparing Like Shaw to Roberto Carlos. Shawberto Carlos, fuck me, haha.
