I think Ronaldo turns up big tonight
It's been a while now since he turned up for a big game.

Portugal could have won last night, obviously, but you just know they're not going to score if they don't get a penalty. Belgium was very poor on the break, which surprised me. Should really be our main strength.
Worst guy on the pitch: the ref. What the hell was that? Overall level of refereeing has not been bad so far, but last night was shameful.

I think the Italy-Belgium game is going to be a good one.

Brych has been an unbearable horrible ref for 15 years now, incredible how UEFA don't give a damn

The best without a doubt, he could destroy teams like no other :tuttosport:
Robben better than Nedved? Pls, young Robben was very good, but Pavel at the time was legitimately among the very best players in the world, one of the last players who were a consistent threat even from 40 meters out.

Watching Bernardo Silva and Joao Moutinho painful. They build up so so slowly.
I will fault Santos' lack of ideas with this one thing: seeking to recoup a goal down exclusively through crosses in the box against three defenders with a combined age of 271. I'm really shocked there was no game plan to at least go directly through the middle against that line.

Also, I think T. Hazard and Meunier are very underrated. We might not look pretty, but with them on the wing we're a tough side to beat.
Meunier has been a regular starter on my UEFA 2020 fantasy team.

That said, my fantasy team is sucking ass. :p

This Euro is getting annoying. I dont get why people dont enjoy the tournament. Juve, Inter, Manure, Real, Barca fans they all watch it so their players play good and opponents play bad.
A barca fan cheers for Netherlands and hopes portugal to lose. Inter fans think Lukaku is the best player ever. Even though his contribution vs Portugal was very little, 0 goals, 0 assist and Belgium had only one shot on goal. Lukaku is a cf ffs. I think its better than summer transfer market. People can bash on their rival players and praise their own.
Im rooting for Italy and i dont care who stars and who doesnt as long as they win.
I enjoy the tournament. The problem isn't the Euros. It's the fans.

Worse is I even see this club-level fighting within the same national team. Portugal, for example, is rife with Benfica vs Porto vs a little Sporting rivalries. Completely stupid.

de bruyne is the best player in the world imo, love watching him play. Hope he wins it
I'm not sure I hope he wins it, but I'd probably agree with the rest.

Not saying Robben was better than Nedved in 2004, what I mean is Robben was the better player if you compare them throughout their career, and yes I might be biased. It’s not like its with a big margin but I think he was better.

Robben is simply one of the best wingers i’ve ever seen and if it wasn’t for him playing in the Messi/Ronaldo era and being injury prone he would’ve won a ballon d’or arguably.

Robben's icon factor is also much better, he's much more known compared with Nedved.

Nedved did win the Ballon d'Or.

Recency bias. And of course newer fans will know Robben more
You could say so, but even without recent bias Robben would be more known imo. It got to do with him being Dutch as their footballers are often very well known, him having played for some of the biggest clubs in the world in 3 different major football nations and leagues. Not to forget he played in a WC final where he kinda ended up as the villain, same in the 2012 CL final and the year after to come back and be the hero.

In 2014 he took revenge against the spaniards with one of the craziest goals you'll ever see in a world cup and carried the Netherlands team to the semifinals.

Also his playing style is something people will remember for many years to come as he was one of a kind in what he did/how he scored his goals, that signature way of cutting in and scoring bangers. Also for him being a controversial figure on the pitch (diving).

All this is not to say Nedved wasn't a special player, he very much was. I just think Robben was better/more influential.

I've seen Robben take the same shot 281 times.

I've seen Pavel destroy Galacticos in some of the most critical Juventus CL successes of this millennium.

Advantage: Pavel

I fear the guy who has practiced the same kick 1000 times more than the guy who knows 1000 kicks

Or something like that
