People should boycott euro given the way they handled eriksen’s cardiac arrest!

Seriously UEFA is backwards and holds back humanity. The whole organization is run on old men ra.ping young boys.

ESL needs to exist and I hope agnelli could find powerful angel investors that can make ESL happen and destroy euro.

i mean how is it even possible to put these 3 teams into the same group: the title holder, the last world champion and the finalist of the last euro, and germany. portugal as a pot 3 team :baus: ukraine in pot 1, while france in pot 2 :baus:

we obviously have zero realistic chance of even getting a point.

Uh, well you'd get your wish if your alternative is cancelling the tournament.

Delaying a match in a tournament for more than a couple of days throws off a lot. Finland would have been impacted by doubling up playing schedules to make up lost time. Or, if not, then the 55-match whole tournament would be out of whack. All the people who have planned, organized, prepared, booked hotels, booked stadiums, hired security, got permits, made flights.

I don't think there's a lot of leeway here. Especially given that Eriksen survived. I sympathize with the guy and his team. But let's be callous here: one sportsman's medical emergency should not disrupt millions of lives and all the preparation teams, cities, stadiums, etc. have invested to put on a tightly scheduled event.

I don't think the Danish players were in any position to play the match that soon after the incident. It's UEFA's problem if their scheduling is so fucked up that it doesn't allow any changes even in such extreme situations. UEFA failed to protect the sport they so hard claim to be protecting.

I think the thing that leaves even more sour taste is that they tried to sell it as the "players decision".

I agree with you that they weren't ready to play.

But I heard that if they did it the next day at 12h, they would have gotten zero sleep overnight and everyone would still have to drag their asses in the next day to start over -- which is why they chose the same day option. So maybe they were given those two options, and a third option of forfeiting the match, and they opted for continuing that night.

Not many options to choose from, but I don't think there's really a good answer to this. All of them seem to be variable levels of suckiness.

I cannot fault UEFA that 23 other teams and all of their staff and players could not be held hostage to a recovered medical emergency of one player. This tournament has already been delayed an entire year for Covid, but a pandemic and a player's heart attack are two different things.

Yeah, still haven't figured out what to make of Germany. I'd say the squad is up there with Europe's elite but then again the coach is leaving, the only #9 Werner (!) is coming off a disappointing season and Germany's new style doesn't seem to suit the entire squad. They could claim 1st spot in this group but also 3rd.

I'll root for ze Germans tonight though. Can't stand those French fuckers.

We haven't looked good ever since moving to back 3/5 tbh. We are going to play on the counter, but have Kroos-Gündogan in the middle, players not really suited to win the ball back. Way too soft imo. Kimmich should be there, but he has to play RWB/RB. On top of it, we just don't play the system well yet.

I'd be really surprised if we get something out of this game. Forwards not really in great shape ether. Sane is rather meh this season and there are rumors of Jogi being annoyed by his attitude, coming late for instructions during training and such.

If being offered a draw - We'd take it I guess.
