Osman, Kroos inclusion will balance the numbers in the midfield (4v4) and I'm sure he'll be the guy marking Pirlo, not Oezil. So, Germany will kinda play a 4-3-1-2 as well, or just put Oezil on the wing to operate with space.
I think Loew got his tactics right, unlike Prandelli (he didn't fail tactically, but at the players in the XI decisions imo). The only appointment to Low is the lack of Reus for Podolski and Boateng instead of the Dortmund LB, eventhough thats already since the beggining of the tourney. Prandelli otherwise, put Cassano in the team (really, I can't understand why when he had Natale, Diamanti and even Giovinco who could offer more, plus Cassano would probably be a good impact sub) and didn't exploit Boateng's weak link with Balzaretti on the left to attack.
Barzagli - Bonucci - Chiellini - Balzaretti or 3-5-2.

Flamez Boateng has played a very good euros so far as RB, so even if I said the same as you before euros (prefer Schmelzer), cant say that now. But yeah looks like Löw shows alot of respect to Pirlo by centralizing his set up, prolly a diamond:

Especially from Reus against Greece, ridicolously direct diagonal runs nonstop (as fake as a winger can get hehe).

he seemed like a liability to me against Greece. Didn't pay much attention to him in the rest of the euros.
I think it's better to use these four midfielders and change his own style a bit, Low is smart enough and knows this italian midfield would probably even get more time with the ball if it was just Pirlo, Marchisio, De Rossi and Montolivo against Oezil, Khedira and Bastian. Now he'll probably dominate the game and he still has two pretty good strikers upfront.
