Don't believe that at all if Torres started the game he wouldnt have had those chances. The defense would have been sharp in the beginning and then he would have been just as tired in the second half. Those chances arrived only because of the situation and not torres

until now italy's defence has never been tested , you are overestimating it , italy's defence is made by juve players and we have exellent defenders , but the most important thing we have is a superb defensive phase and still our defence has yet to be tested against a great attack . Saying that torres was dangerous because italy's defense was tired is wrong , if so i suppose you make the same assumption for navas . bosque waited a lot to notice that in the left flank you could break through easily and when he finally inserted navas he was very dangerous , same with torres a striker made them far more dangerous and much more difficult for the italians to defend . Without a striker spain is very sterile , with a striker they imediatly become much much more dangerous .

And as i said before without a striker spain is very sterile in attack , the one i actually want to see italy against is germany

It was only a meaningless game, but I give you exibit A, Azzurri defence facing players who offer the same kind of approach someone like Torres does, constant off the ball movement and all around mobile attacking patterns that gives defence less time to get settled (tiki-taka without zip directness closer to goal, and without anyone speaheading ze attack, gives defences tons of times to get behind the ball):

Tiredness may have meant Spain had more time in midfield to pick the passes than they would have earlier in the game, but I certainly don't think it was the key factor behind Torres causing Italy problems.

if by exhibit a you mean exhibit asinine then yes. That was meaningless. Honestly rooney wont do shit against barzaghli, chellini and bonucci

Spain are their own worst enemy. I really don't know what they're thinking not playing anyone upfront. I personally would play both a striker and someone else like Pedro or Mata, players who would stretch the defense by using the width of the pitch, making runs behind the opposition defense, and playing on the opposition defense's shoulders. These kind of players would complement the sort of football Spain's midfield likes to play, their is no use keeping possession of the ball, if you don't have anyone willing to move off the ball in the final third.

Also, i think Spain being an offensive team is a huge myth, i don't think they're an offensive team at all, i think they're a team that plays possession football, that prefers playing safe short passes instead of trying to take risks. Del Bosque focuses more on keeping the ball than actually carving out chances. They're content with winning games by one or two goal margin, and then just keep the ball for the rest of the game without committing too much to attack.

If Blanc wasn't such a pussy yesterday, France could have done something. Playing Debuchy on the right wing, and playing Malouda instead of Nasri, meant that Spain did not have to worry too much about conceding for the majority of the game. So even though they were not creating that many chances, and were playing some really ineffective football, France never looked like sneaking in a goal. The horrible display yesterday was completely Blanc's fault. That being said, i also blame lazy, heartless fvcks like Benzema and M'Vila, both of them were embarassing yesterday, in the way they came to the game expecting to lose. Bunch of fvcking pussies.

de rossi played the libero role , i think you mean bonucci at right centre back cause barzagli can't play the libero , there you need someone like bonucci or de rossi in this case which plays the ball . And by the way de rossi was acclaimed by everyone i heard as one of the best of italy's side
