Wouldn't it be similar to the situation in Euro 2004 where in a mini table the results against Bulgaria were all cancelled? In this case if Spain beat Ireland tonight and get a 2-2 draw against Croatia Italy will be out no matter how many goals they score against Ireland.
But they'll have to win with more than 3:1. Because if Spain wins 2:0 tonight, a 2:2 with Croatia will mean that Spain ends 2nd in the group.

The replays showed that to an Azzurri fan eye, I'm certain about it :agree:

We will need lots of camera angles for all those calls, and even if some turn out to be onsides, for the linesman those were still 50-50 calls, and maybe not even that because in a 10 of a second it already was a big offside.
Are you serious Alen? Maggio and Di Natale were not offside. It's even funnier when you notice how Mandzukic or whatever he is weren't called offside for the goal.

yeah, i think so. so focking annoyed that italy didnt win this. One error, and one lucky goal. Mandzukic is a dirty fokker. spent so much time on the ground after 1-1. did the same thing against irland. 4 shoots 3 goals, he aint that good, thats for sure

I still can't believe Italy let us back in. They found each and every one of our weaknesses. They knew how to hurt us and outplay us, they were doing that for 45 minutes and then decided not to do the thing that will guarantee them the win. And if they planned to seat back and kick us on the counters, they should have done it with Di Natale, instead of letting him in so late in the match.

Conte would have won this.

ok fine, so lets win vs Ireland.... Remember last time we played them... dominated the game and lost 2-0 Balotelli and Cassano need to start scoring NOW!

Brought the result upon themselves by basically playing into Croatia's hands and allowing numerous crosses to be sent into the box. Often you'd have Giaccherini or Maggio playing too narrow allowing a bit of time for a wide player to get in. Croatia did well to double up in those areas.

Also not impressed by how impatient it all felt when Croatia were told to push forward and press. There was a lot of attempts for the hollywood pass instead of playing it more calmly like the first half. We've seen that happen to Juventus though, arrogance after a first half lead.

It definitely feels like Maggio is on a different wavelength to his teammates.

How many times in big competitions did Italy take the lead, sit back and concede a goal?

I can at least name 10 games and it never gets boring :lol2:

Am I the only one that thinks, Italy will struggle big time against Ireland?
Nope. I can already see a 1-0 loss or another 1-1 draw.

Italy's Euro is over folks. They needed the win tonight and they choked. Thanks to their horrible finishing in the first half and their pussy approach in the second half.

Man, now that I think of it, this match was very similar to the 1-1 draw against Sweden in 04.
