Italy only have themselves to blame. They adopted the typical pussy approach in the 2'nd half; it was only a matter of time before Croatia scored, and they did. You don't sit back and invite the opponents to attack you, especially not when you need the 3 points, and are only leading by 1 goal. Italy could and should've ended the 1'st half 2 goals up (at least), and they should have started the 2'nd half attacking the Croats and securing the result with a 2'nd goal. Instead, they did the complete opposite. Wasteful in the first half, absolutely pathetic in the 2'nd.
exactly, typical , same ol'story! so frustrating.... Italy dominated the 1st half, chance after chance went wasted. This should have been a clear cut 3 points but instead Croatia steal one ..... :sergio:

I notice a lot of people on here/twitter/Facebook etc saying 'us' and 'we' when talking about Italy, who don't seem to be Italian :shifty:
Same as when you say "we" or "us" for Juve.
Just a team you follow in Sport.so you consider yourself as a "fan" part of of it.again AS A FAN.

Because the linesman flagged for offside while the replays showed those weren't offside. Almost 50-50, yup :agree:
The replays showed that to an Azzurri fan eye, I'm certain about it :agree:

We will need lots of camera angles for all those calls, and even if some turn out to be onsides, for the linesman those were still 50-50 calls, and maybe not even that because in a 10 of a second it already was a big offside.

:sergio: FFS don't we say US for Juve too and most of us are not Italian? I say us too. I've been an Italia fan since I was a kid. It has nothing to do with living there.
As awesome as that is. Most question that because with a national team it's usually about the pride of being that nationality so it's more strange than supporting an Italian club when not Italian

It's quite simple math for Italy really. If they win 3-0 vs Ireland, they go through if the Spain-Croatia match ends in a draw, at the expense of Croatia. Or they better Spain's score vs Ireland tonight to go through at the expense of Spain. If Spain-Croatia ends with a win for either side, Italy just need a win vs Ireland.
Wouldn't it be similar to the situation in Euro 2004 where in a mini table the results against Bulgaria were all cancelled? In this case if Spain beat Ireland tonight and get a 2-2 draw against Croatia Italy will be out no matter how many goals they score against Ireland.

If they don't, they're paid. There is no way Croatia can hold Spain to a draw. Just like there would have been no way, HAD ITALY ATTACKED.
Paid by whom? :D

And Spain WILL beat Croatia. The question is if Italy will beat Ireland. Imo they will. If Italy could outplay Croatia so badly in the 1st half, they should have an even easier job with Ireland, who on top of having just as bad defense as Croatia, don't have the Croatia's midfield nor attack to be dangerous.
