I just feel that we should have taken a target man, a big strong physical guy who can hold the ball up, win headers and generally play as a refernce point. Matri would have been my choice, because if Balo continues like this the rest of the tournament,we look a little bit thin in the strikers department.

Except that Matri isn't strong physically and doesn't score headers often.

Jelavic was offside when Modric took his shot, shouldn't have stood. Croatia has been the better of the two though.

I think you are allowed to be offside initially. It looked like the second phase pass deflected off a defender to him, so he wasn't offside for the goal. Poor defending, but also a bit of luck.
